Ok:

- GMM has been switched over to the division system. It should be more fun for less skilled players and more tense and challenging for more skilled.

- The unusual cumulative scoring for GMM will continue for the rest of the current month will remain the same. Starting next month we will switch over to what we use in the other games.

- A new badge "GMM: Winner" has been added to go along with the "win points" in the new GMM. There are some placeholder graphics in there right now for the badges and tiers.

- I had to make a ton of changes to make the ancient GMM work with the new stuff, so there may be some issues. Please keep a look out for any bugs in this one.

I didn't think you would change this because it never had divisions to begin with, so that was a surprise!

But please bring back the scientist looking at the telescope. It was the most charming thing on the site.

Yeah all the graphics there right now are placeholders.

Hi Terry - just a small glitch, I am sure, but after one has played Gold Madness, the green tick is not showing up (the one which indicates you've played that game within the current time period).

Anyone else not seeing checkmarks after playing?

My checkmark is there, both on the Game Index and on the home page I use. Played just a few minutes ago.

My checkmark is showing up too. In the results page (http://www.funtrivia.com/myresults.cfm?gametype=24), however, it's showing overall ranking instead of divisional ranking, unlike every other game that has been stratified into divisions.

Yeah, because its cumulative scores are on an ancient system and we are mid-month, I'm keeping old ranking algorithm in there. I'll complete the division switchover end of month.

I just played Gold Madness and noticed that 0% of players had answered any of the questions correctly in the past, including this one: "Which feeling does the "green-eyed monster" describe?" (I don't think I'm letting any cats out of the bag on this one.)

It's okay now, but for a period of time after the changes, it wasn't showing up for me. Thanks for checking it.

GMM is also showing problems with the transition to late night play. Since it's a six-hour period, you may just want to eliminate transitions altogether for this game.

Noticed something in Gold Madness results. On this page:

Also noticed that there is no link for it on the Results page. There are links to Hard, Mixed, Easy, Expert, Wizard, Obscure GM, and Fill, but none for Gold Member Madness.

Just noticed that the names for the Divisions in the GMM game have disappeared as well.

I have the green tick, but it says I'm in Division 3 and I'm not. I do appear in Division all, and I'm normally in 4.

And now my green tick has vanished as well. Bizarre.

Ok I have turned night off for GMM. 4 divisions is probably fine given the 6 hr window.

and FYI: I intend on reducing the required "win pts" for all the tiers in GMM because of the 6 hr games too.

Since Fill Me In now has the time left as [2 hrs, 48 min] showing up on the home page, how about doing the same for Gold Member Madness as well? It's now the one "hourly" game without a timer on the home page.

So are we just not going to mention that the new Gold Member Madness badge, the one for winner points, has just changed? It's certainly cuter than the trophy-based one, which looked a lot like the Perfect Score badge.

I noticed another badge that uses the same theme, but a purple circle instead of a yellow face, but I can't remember what it is. Maybe for Obscurity win points? (I don't have that one yet.)

It's a new month but the full division switchover for GMM hasn't occurred, you probably want to do it now while the month only has a few results.

Also, you said you'd be reducing the win points necessary for the GMM Winner tiers. Do you have enough data now for a better setting? 500 is a steep number for a game where one can score a theoretical maximum of 16 Win Points a day (other games can theoretically score up to 144 if one plays every hour, but in practice one has around 80 win points available per day in those games).

Similarly, Obscurity and FME tiers may also need to be looked at. Obscurity is half as lucrative as Fifty-Fifty (same time periods, but only 3 divisions instead of 6) but they have similar win point requirements at high tiers right now.
