I am a fan of science fiction and have heard lots about Farscape. I have been watching the series on the SciFi channel and find it difficult to get into. I have seen about three episodes and have the following comments:

The silver chick is pretty cool
The puppets are pretty weak
The dialogue is hard to follow
I have no idea about the back story
The chicken nose guy is weak too

The question is, can someone come into this series in, I guess, its third season and become a fan? I did exactly that when watching Babylon 5. Is this series as good?

I love Farscape, but I guess it would be really hard to follow if you haven't seen it from the beginning. You can rent the best of season one at Blockbuster though. If you understand what's going on it really is a great show. You could also go to scifi.com/farscape they have 'John Chrichton's Logs' he writes in his journal about each of his experiences. If you have any questions just pm me, I'd be glad to fill you in on the plot. Oh, I just remembered that they also show the reruns during the week, you could find the schedule for that on the site also.

Sidenote: I'm glad to hear that someone ELSE besides me started on "Babylon 5" fromt he middle! I started watching it at "War Without End" because there was nothing else on - flipped on the SciFi channel once and started watching.

In much the same fashion, I have had people whose opinion (at least in terms of entertainment) I respect, recommend Farscape much as they did Babylon 5. I don't know if it is a language problem, story problem, or character problem with my enjoyment. Please suggest to me what I should pay attention to: Is it plot; is it character; or both? By the way I really can't stand the look of the guy with the chicken beak. Will I get over that, or is that a function of the fact that the Henson company produces the program? He puts me off as much as Neelix did in Voyager!

Farscape is fantastic !! Babylon5 Is Fantastic !!

You probably could have followed the plot if you started at Season 2 but Season 3.....blimey.....it would take you forever and a bloody good detective to work out what had happened before !!

Farscape is well worth the trouble of watching back episodes. The plot is very good and most episodes are well written and extremely fun to watch....

Just watched the most recent Farscape episode on SciFi and have found it interesting and enjoyable. This is the ep where there are some bounty hunters on board, some shrinking of the regular cast, and some male bonding between Chrichton and Scorpious. Not too confusing. I understood the role of all of the folks involved with out lots of back story and now am curious to see what happens.

All I ask is that Farscape produce no more "holo-game" episodes (ones with blue bald bhuddas; either male or female) or eps where animation plays a major role. They will turn away new fans if they do that.
