If World Quiz is removed from consideration for Team competition, I fear that may kill the game entirely. This may indicate that the game should be removed if the only reason people play it is obligation. Removing it could mean that we fill its spot in with something people actually want to play instead. Why can't it simply be one of the games played in the new monthly rotation system? I don't see why any game would have to be removed.

The only game getting chopped is the "TVT Game", and it is being replaced by "TVT Leagues" What does that mean? I thought "TVT Leagues" is a description of the new competition structure. Is "TVT Leagues" a game? Is it scored like Heroes?

It's been 106 months of play since this thread was instituted, triggered by a member's question about having a Team of the Year award. (Does anyone know who it was? Almost nine years... someone could probably dig it out in the depths of the forums). The system has survived for this time with only one minor tweak to scoring in 2016 (and the abolition of the 100+ member-league) although the spreadsheet I used to make these became increasingly complex and automated over the years. Where initially, I had to check the movement up and down the tables by hand and adjust the columns for display as well, it's become a mostly automated thing that took about 5 minutes of running a few things for the monthly and 10 for the cumulative. Still, I'm not too sad to see it go because it's not gone but rather grown up into a flexible, encompassing team league system for the future. But before we get to that, let's take a final look at the Hall of Fame. You can think of the system a bit like gymnastics and compare the individual games to exercises. Every month feature a selection of games from the complete spectrum and different divisions might be playing different games. Right now, not everything is fully in place yet (the system officially starts September 1), but you can check https://www.funtrivia.com/templates/teamlist.cfm to see the games currently featured in each division. Finding out the right games will be made a lot easier by the time of the real launch: Your team info page will highlight the standings in the currently featured games near the top and the plan is also to have those pages that currently feature the "played" check marks (the "games" page and some views of the homepage) to get a new symbol on league games you could currently play (i.e. that are featured for your league and you haven't played them during the current period).

I think what HairyBear meant was that a lot of the players will feel frustrated that their score didn't count, as only 8 can. This might impact on their earning of badges for amassing team points. In terms of team standings, a larger team is at an advantage simply because they are more likely to have 8 players skilled in any particular game, and don't need to have everyone be an all-rounder.
