Here is the shoe repairer we used in East Finchley since the 60s. Many years ago it was taken over after the old man retired, and the new owner has just closed it down due to poor health. No one knows its future fate so far.

Dartmoor is a very beautiful and very quiet place. Sadly, the weather up there often means that the colours of the sky and water look a little washed out.

I could edit more in Lightroom, but then the result is a false representation of how the place actually looked at the time.

I needed a new camera when my Lumix bridge stopped focusing, and thought an SLR was beyond my means but found a Canon with a zoom lens for half the price I expected and went for it. It means I can get the same quality at night as during the day as long as there is street or building lighting.

A sign just turned up online in Suffolk and being free today went there straight away.

Since the end of Maplins and various other firms like Comet this is the only place I can get most of my technical kit, just down the road in Staples Corner.

I am working my way around the internet searching out any old sign within 100 miles, this little chap plus the try your brakes behind it were the first I've come across anywhere convenient, and were very common when we used to drive around country roads. I had to go all the way to Tetbury in Gloucestershire for these.

And here is the other side for people coming out of the water. I drove through one recently which was a couple of feet deep, and when I came back they had closed it as it was too deep. Too late for me though.
