Clues for the Treasure Hunt badge used to appear at the top of random screens, but were lost when we upgraded our interface. So, I have put them back out there to be found once again, although now in a different place. Good luck to those seeking the mysterious FunTrivia treasure!

They’re randomly generated.

I think the question was more where on the page to look. It's not that much fun to have to scroll through and search every single page until you hit one smile

Although this could be a good little community task. Anyone found a clue yet and care to enlighten us? (Note: the only information we want is where on the page. Not which page, not the content, nothing else. Only where on your screen you have to look... Any spoilers beyond that will be summarily bleeped.)

I've seen them. They're quite obvious when they appear, I think. You won't need to look in a special place to find them.

I just spotted a clue. It was almost at the bottom of the page - after the answers and your score. The only thing after it was the "Return to" bit.

I just saw one, in the same place as Dagny found one.

What fun! We could even earn a new badgelet for finding the clues if they're spontaneously generated and appear in different locations. Like that little man you have to find in drawings - what's his name?

OR a "Clayton's Treasure Hunt" badgelet. Find a required number of tiny images hidden all over the site.

His name is Waldo. I've yet to see Treasure Hunt clue since the recent fix. Pat, there is a badge for finding a random image on the site. Yes, you already have it.

That's it - Waldo! Thanks, Mira, it was driving me nuts trying to remember his name smilee

That other badge was one of the first ones I got in Fun Trivia, but I meant other tiny images for a possible mini. It'd probably play havoc with a page's programming though. Not that I know a thing about programming. And plan to keep it that way. It's a very specific skill.

Waldo - or Wally in the UK.

Hmm. Interesting. Like Dagny1, I saw one near the bottom earlier in a standard game. However I just saw another one in the traditional position at the top for a different game.

There were always some at the bottom of the page. I remember after a certain hourly game seeing one ask me for a password.
(I got the Treasure Hunt badge some years ago, so some of my memory is fuzzy.)

I just saw another example in the traditional position at the top for the same specific game as previously.

Apart from that, across the site as a whole, I have seen more to reinforce Dagny1's observation about them now generally being very near the bottom.

Gracious1, I recognise the one you're talking about but personally I think of that one as part of the journey towards the answer rather than an actual clue.

Regards, KQ (still trying to find the treasure!)

Are the clues only visible to those who do not already have the badge?

I haven't seen any clues, since Terry started this thread. I play a lot of games, and have been looking, but nothing, nada... not one clue.

Could it be my old Windows 7 computer?

Nope: I've got the badge, yet I still see the clues---9 times out of 10 at the bottom of the page as reported by Dagny1 and seconded by KentQuizzer.

I've been scrolling to the bottom, on purpose, just to see what they look like. Haven't seen one.

I'm really beginning to think it's a problem operating system or browser. Fine for me, but not fine for someone who doesn't have the badge.

No, there's a random element to it.

I just found one at the top of a page, which is of the old design.

So far, the only ones I've seen are at the foot of the page. I've had the badge for a long time.

I finally saw one yesterday. It was at the bottom of the page after the answers to an hourly game. The clue was about numbers. It wasn't the "Gateway"clue at the bottom of that other hourly game.

Before the disappearance of the clues and the recent fix, I used to see the clues at the top of pages.

Terry, can you take another look at the clues? The one I saw so far was tacked on to another sentence, starting in the middle of a line instead of being neatly spaced. Maybe they could also be highlighted a bit so a player won't accidentally miss them in the current position.

I just had another one (#25) at the top of a page, again a page which is still in the old format.

I've found a clue three times now. It has been the same clue. It has also been in the same place, bottom of the page after the answers appear, in the same hourly game.

Is there more variety in where clues should appear for those of us finding the clues at the bottom of the page? Or is this game my lucky place to find clues?
