Hi Terry. I'm finally in and it's everything I had hoped it would be. Nice job. I'm still not sure how I got started down this path--I started with the link you advertised. Maybe there's a question along the way that could be interpreted the wrong way.

I signed up yesterday (as silverginger), and noticed immediately how much easier it is to play quizzes, in the sense that I don't have to take a 25 question quiz anymore only to be told that I'd already played it. Great job Terry.

All I can say is !!!!!!! Well, there is alot more than that........ I am thrilled to have my checkmarks back! I love my adorable little gold star by my name! I love being able to be notified when quizzes in a category I love are put online! I could go on all night!!!! Thank you Terry!!!!! It makes it alot easier for us addicts to be able to take more quizzes and not have to try to remember the ones we have already done!

If I'd known about the message boards when I first got it (as a birthday gift) I would have posted then. I love the gold membership! Once you take more than 200 or so quizzes, it's the only way to tell what's what!

I'm new to the whole Gold Membership deal, but why do we have to pay money to be a Gold Member, if we didn't pay to be a member to funtrivia?

Bruyere explained it best in another thread as being like a PBS membership type thing.

You can play for free, which is a great thing, or you can donate to the cost of running the site and get some perks for your donation. ($20 for 6 months). I have played both ways. I enjoy the perks, and I see it as a great entertainment investment. As much time as I spend here, it is very reasonable. I could spend $20 on one evening of a cheap dinner and one movie, or for $20 I get six months of entertainment. The real bonus of the perks comes into effect if you spend alot of time in Quizzyland. Since I bounce back and forth between the Forums and Quizzyland, I see the Gold membership as a real time saver for me, being able to know which quizzes I have already played (for example of one perk), now that I am nearing the 5000 mark.

I've finally managed to get the thing to work, and am enjoying the benefits of gold membership. However, I now know which category I've performed most strongly in and, rather embarassingly, it's the "For Children" section. I don't suppose it's possible to fake the statistics and make it look as if I've excelled in current affairs, history, and other weightier subjects?

Don't worry mate, mine is too, but I have an excuse, my kids did all the quizzes in their subject areas. As I'd never have done as well at Harry Potter!
I'm rapidly overtaking it with World though...some day I'll be able to hold my head up in polite society.

I think everyone's best category is For Children...

Hi Terry, I think Goldmember is great! Unfortunately, I live in Britain and I can't pay in dollars. I was a Goldmember in December and I knew which quizzes I've played and which I havn't. In addition, no ads will come up in my way.

That is true Ladymacb29. It is the easiest category on FunTrivia.
