I started to play my Knockout Challenge game this morning, but could not scroll down past question 11. I decided to back out and see if I could play later. I did play (as quick as I usually do), and only missed 2 questions, but my score was only 1200.

Is there a penalty for backing out and re-trying? I'd hate to lose my chance at winning this bracket due to a computer/game glitch!!

The timer started the first time you played, even though the page did not completely arrive at your computer. You thus had a very high time (possibly hours) and received the maximum time penalty of 600. Sorry - we can't really do anything about this; you experienced a connection error, not a server error.

Thanks for the explanation! I expected as much and, unfortunately, was eliminated by that round. :-(

This maximum time penalty of 600... is the whole thing 1 point per second?

In that case somebody who stopped to look up every single answer (very slowly) and got 20/20 with the maximum time penalty would still have a modest chance of beating me since I go under 1400 every few games as my usual range is 14-18 correct occasionally jumping into the 19 or 20 correct if I'm very lucky. So on my 14 or 15 correct days the 1400 would probably defeat me!

Don't worry Wesley, or anyone else! I'm not suggesting anything untoward! Nobody looks up answers here at FT I know that! Just amusing myself with that notion!
