I know this has been covered before, but I was wondering how long a person has to correct a quiz when corrections are sent. I sent out a correction notice yesterday and the quiz is still up in it's original form. The quiz is in the "Something in Common" subcat and it's called Child Abuse in Popular Music. Just wondering.

Hi IndieQueen, the amount of time a person gets to fix a quiz on their own varies from category to category. In theory, I believe the minimum anywhere is about 3 days, and the maximum is about a week. In practice, we have a huge backup in some categories, particularly Music. We're working on getting through the corrections, but it may take a while. Thanks for taking the time to send it though!

It takes longer than you might think, depending on the person who receives it. If the person fails to respond, we send a reminder to them, if they don't respond to that, we might take it offline. If a person responds and says it's correct then we assess it, if they say they've changed it, we check that out.

If someone receives about twenty on one quiz, then we go in and nip it in the bud. It can sometimes be a technical problem.
Give the person a bit of time to correct it though, I can't take something offline until they've had a chance to look at it.

In general you can see pretty quickly if several people send the same correction that it might need taking offline.

just out of curiosity, what happens if the quizmaker is on holliday or something?

And who validates the error message to be correct?

I got recently some messages, and it took me by surprise, since it was a quiz that was already online for more then a year, and the 600 other players didn't see that "mistake"...

Anyway, I always try to respond asap to it, but hey, when I'm on holliday I can't react on it...

If you're away on vacation, the quiz is still taken off. We don't really like to have quizzes with errors online. But once you get back, just fix the quiz (if needed) and resubmit your quiz.

Because there are some subjects that we editors are not experts on, we cannot verify every single correction notice (although sometimes we will do searches on the net to doublecheck).

Also, a quick note: If your quiz is taken offline, please double check the category guidelines that you have the correct amount of interesting info and things like that. Thanks!
