Of course if you don't join the protests you are safe.
Most of the people I see and know are disgusted with the way the so called HK government are handling this. I think it has become clear from the press reports that we have no trust in a government that agrees to extradite criminals to China. Even a murderer needs a fair trial. The treatment of criminals in China is well documented.
For myself, having been here when they massacred the students in Beijing and to this day will not acknowledge what they did, I could never trust them.
How can you trust people who condone the mowing down and murdering of their young students?
As to the agreement made at the handover for a One country,two systems. It means little.
We will see more protests this Sunday. July 1st will be huge too as it is the anniversary of the handover in 1997. Watch this space.
