Another old sign, this time on the Northants/Leics border, it had a white panel in the blue frame but it's worn off.

The roof of Wanborough Great Barn, Wanborough, Surrey. It was built in 1388 by the Cistercian monks of Waverley Abbey (5 miles away - building now in ruins). I think the lights in the roof will be a much later addition. smile

As I was searching the internet another one turned up in the East Midlands, it's the only one I've seen left in the country. The other reason is the usual sign was a picture of a cow with cattle under it, this is a rare alternative.

I then went along the road beyond Market Harborough to get this one. I think all my list is up to date now until more turn up.

We can't afford artists to draw cows up here! You're lucky if you can find people who know how to write. wink

That looks like purple loosestrife, telly. In my old state, New Hampshire, it's considered an invasive species!

It might be classed as an invasive species here too. We do have a number of them. Still quite a nice plant when in flower though.
