Big site change -- switching us over to secure HTTP https://www.funtrivia.com
This will remove those annoying "not secure" messages and bring us up to date with most of the rest of the web.

While I did a lot of testing there's still potential for things to have broken in this change. Use this thread to report. Thanks

Thanks for this thread! I was working on a quiz, and when I tried to save it, got an "invalid category" message. I almost immediately remembered about the switch going on today, and did not panic. Thankfully I have good memory, and remember what I wrote.

Edit: Back to normal now. Thanks again for everything smilee!

Haven't been able to play any quizzes in Timed or Untimed mode on my phone since the change, it just gets stuck on 'loading'. Might just be early, I'll try again a bit later and see if it's back working.

Minor and probably unrelated problem: Setting an image for a private tournament only allows http:// in the URL (it ignores the entry entirely if I try to set https://)

The actual display link will be https however - if you have the image on a server that does not support https, it will not work (which is a good thing, otherwise you'd get a mixed content error on some browsers).

Workaround for affected users: Upload the picture to a site that supports https (imgur.com for example), but remove the s when pasting the link into your tournament.

Working now? If not, please post URL to page where img is not displaying.

I have a message on my profile page to update my avatar. I tried twice to use the same one I use in the forums but it won't work.

But... on team pages all of our avatars are still there.

Yes, I have started enforcing the "no external avatars" rule we put in place a few months ago. All avatars must be uploaded to FunTrivia.

Did you try uploading your avatar in the "modify profile" section?

If so, what happened?

I did, I chose it from my desktop, clicked the upload button, which changed color tone to indicate it was working but the image didn't get on my profile.

Oh wait, I see what you mean. It looks like it was identifying some on the server as not being on it. Check now please!

I actually got the same message with an avatar hosted on FT. Reuploading fixed it.

Edit: Or I guess it wasn't the reupload that fixed it smile

It's working now. Thanks!

Edit reason: my spelling hasn't been updated.

I've also added a more detailed/helpful explanation to those whose avatars really are off-site.

Have just tried again on the Quiz of the Hour as a tester and it still got stuck on 'loading'. Would it make a difference switching the phone off and on?

Can you please state your phone model and operating system version and browser? Quizzes are loading fine on most platforms, so having your system information would help track down the issue. Thanks!

Just tried it on my iphone and it's working... what sort of device do you have?

Next bet would be (a) turning device off and on
if still not, (b) clear cached browser files

Alcatel 4034X, Android 6.0, and Chrome browser.

I'm not the most tech savvy so please say if you need anything else.

Both work aok on a google pixel.
However, if you scroll the i.i. page to read it, it flicks to the next Q.

Ok both of you please give it a shot now... it looks like there was a bug in UNTIMED mode that may have affected you.
