I have a Samsung 5 Neo, using Android 6.0.1 and Chrome 75.0.3770.101. I did Quiz of the Hour, then a timed Mixed Quiz, a Timed Quiz, an Untimed Quiz, and a single page Quiz and everything seemed to be working just fine. However, I then did a Topic Mixed Quiz (Topics for Kids) and it froze on Q8.

On a desktop running Firefox 56.0.2 I'm getting a yellow warning triangle on chat threads and forum threads (e.g. right now):
"Connection is not secure. Parts of this page are not secure (such as images)."
Maybe it's connected to the avatar issue but I thought I'd report it anyway.

Yeah the issue there is externally linked avatars. Chat boards is easy enough -- I'll be disabling all external avatars. Unusure what I'll do in the forums right now.

Right after the change, I found that my external forum avatar was not working any more - my (pretty old) little personal server does not support https but the site wanted to access it that way, so it just gave a broken image (Firefox 67.0.4).

Can you try with a more recent Firefox? 56.0.2 is a really old one and not part of any ESR (extended service release) path - if you want to use ESR, your options would be 52 or 60 (although 52 is no longer supported).

Ok I just disabled external avatars in profiles / chat boards / ask FT / team boards. I've been meaning to do that for a while.

In theory there should be NO "mixed unsecure content" warnings anywhere on the main site. The forums are the only exception.

Please let me know if you ever run into yellow triangles, unsecure image, etc notifications anywhere else on the site! Post precise URLs here.

Confirmed, the yellow warning triangle I was seeing on the main site has now gone.

I'm getting a warning in IE 11 on a Windows 7, in the Private Tournaments home page... not the individual tournaments, themselves.

"Only secure content is displayed."

https://www.funtrivia.com/private/

I also notice that the Private Tournament game avatars do not have an option for FT hosting, only pre-set, or outside hosting.

I have this message on my profile even though I am not a GM. "Since your avatar, xxx.jpg is hosted on another site it is NO longer being displayed."

The word 'no' is missing causing it to sound strange.

I have had no avatar for several years and wonder how it can still be remembered by FT.

When I look at my profile, I see my usual profile. (I have no idea where it is located, flopsymopsy sorted it for me ages ago.) When I just posted a response to a question on Ask Fun Trivia, I saw something totally different. I have nothing against cats, in fact I am a big fan, but my avatar had terriers. What do I need to do to sort it?

ssabreman, if you have once been a Gold Member, the system will remember your avatar and all other gold settings and scores forever. If you were to reactivate today, all your Gold features would return right as you left them.

AskFT avatar choice seems broken right now, I just made (and deleted) a test reply and got a bald eagle instead of my usual catfolk. I never had a stock avatar at any time, so it seems to be more or less picking randomly.

LT, I think your problem is that your terrier avatar was hosted elsewhere. I have a copy and will talk to you later about what to do next. I'll send you a note when I'm at my computer. smile

Ignore that, AskFT is beyond my fixing! grin

Ask FT avatars fixed. You will only get a random avatar if your avatar points at another site wink

I know this isn't exactly related to HTTPS, but since the avatars have been discussed I wanted to inquire: Will animated gifs be supported again? I really liked my avatar. smile

Unfortunately probably not.

If there's some reason you don't care to update Firefox beyond v. 56, like the lack of support for certain browser extensions or perhaps privacy issues with Quantum, you could also try a Firefox fork like Pale Moon, which I use myself & have no problems.
