So about a year ago in this thread (Nov 27, 2019, to be exact, as may be seen in the final post of Page 3 of this thread), I said I may head off in the Gary Numan and B-52s directions someday. That day has arrived. Here's the B-52s with "Love Shack":
https://tinyurl.com/y6yh6gucAs for Gary Numan - oh heck! - might as well throw him in today too. Just because his most popular song is not actually an 80s song (released 1979) doesn't mean I can't violate my rule and put it in today, especially as A) I've already included an 80s song in this post, and B) as I discussed on the very first page of this thread when I included Blondie's "Heart of Glass", songs from 1979 are "close enough" for me to want to include them sometimes since, rural Texan as I am, I didn't know of their existence until the 80s, when I first encountered them on MTV, which didn't even debut until 1981. And apparently, I'm not the only one to mistake certain songs from '79 as 80s songs. "Cars" is widely thought to be an 80s song because it was in the advent of "synth-pop", which is generally associated with the 80s. Have I rationalized this long enough yet? Good. OK, as a bonus, here's Gary Numan with "Cars":
https://tinyurl.com/y54awcbeI feel so much better finally getting those in here. Nothing like that tambourine Gary Numan has. If you're out there somewhere, DireWolf74, today's post is for you.
