Following up on a couple of the above comments, the Gold Member Game is the only one which shows as changed for League A.

It says that the TvT game will continue until Sunday. Will there be a reset of the 8 required TvT games on that day as well? Will we also see a layout for how future Team Points will be earned at that time?

Why would there be a reset of the 8 games?? I think it's just the old TvT 15 question game that's being retired, I don't think it affects the new leagues?.?

I believe Team Points were still being generated solely by Heroes and the TvT game in October. The new League system has not established the breakdown of Team Points going forward.
The 7 required TvT League games are still the same as last month, as per the above posts. I thought maybe a reset would be in order when the TvT game retires on Sunday.

I have to say I am a bit disappointed in the lack of diversity in games for our league. I really like the new team system, it is a terrific set-up, but only switching out one game, and a gold member only daily one, is a bit of a letdown.

I will rebuild the category selection for next month to increase variability.

The ONLY game that will be guaranteed each month will be Team Heroes, and the rest will try to ensure that there are more different choices.

Come on, don't all of you know what really happened to cause little to no change in the ranked team games for the Leagues?

It was Wesley's Evil Twin! Mr. Evi L. Twin messed with more than our badges! He ruined the category selection for the games. That's why Terry has to rebuild it.

The TvT game is still running even though it said it was done on Sunday. Does this mean it is still alive for yet another month? Or where are the team points coming from to replace it?

I expect Terry will shut it down when the Halloween badgelet is closed which should be fairly soon, depending on what else he has to do first thing on a Monday morning.

That was supposed to shut off Sunday night as well. It's still alive.

Please tell us the formula for calculating Team Points in the new system. I think I've seen some players on other teams gaining lots of team points without even playing Team Heroes or any other designated TvT league games.

The new team point formula is not yet official. Terry might just be working on it as we speak, so people might be getting points based on code in progress.

My concept (which I have not yet received confirmation that it will be the final implementation) is that you will get a certain amount of base points per league game you play (multiple plays of the same game will not give extra points), plus the team contribution your score is worth (given at the change of day). All games except Heroes have the same value, Heroes gives a higher number.

If you play all your five available games as a League D or League C non-Gold member, you'll wind up with about the same number of team points as in the past. If you're a GM or higher league, you have some extra scoring opportunities, so you can progress somewhat faster per day than before (but this also comes at a significantly increased effort since you need to play between five and eight games instead of two).

I don't want to post the exact values before they are confirmed - if it needs changing, we may have wrong info floating around.

Edit: Terry wants a simpler system, it'll just be a flat amount per league game you play (once per day) with no performance factor. Stay tuned for the exact values.

The new team points should be live now. Please check that you are properly being awarded. What you should receive is:

- 750 points for playing Team Heroes.
- 375 points for playing each of the other games of your league the first time on each day.

Those points should immediately be given when you finish you play, regardless of your score or how many others of your team played.

These numbers are scaled so that you should progress at about the same pace as prior to the change if you play your full complement in League D (or C as a non-GM). Higher Leagues progress a bit faster, but it's also a higher effort now (up to 8 games instead of 2).

Ok, just to be clear, we should be watching our TEAM POINT total for this, not the FT points or Daily Point total. I played all the team games and only have 1300 Daily pt right now. So I should have tracked the Team Points. Daily points are still earned as before for each game?

And is it fair to assume that GMs can gain an extra 375 team points because they can play the extra game?

Does this also mean that players on a team in League A can earn more than those in B, C or D?

Those with access to more games can earn more points, but of course this is also for more effort.

The alternative would have been to scale down the points per game in the higher leagues, but that would actually result in a higher league being a penalty: the same amount of play would result in a lesser reward.

The factor between the lowest and highest possible reward tier is 1.5 (D players and regular C have five games, while Gold Member A have eight. The double-counting of Heroes makes the ratio 6 to 9, so 1.5) which I believe is quite correct for the extra play (many high league players also play their hourlies more often) and a bit of a performance reward for teams (replacing the old team average score factor).

Remember that under the old system, many players in smaller / less successful teams had no opportunity to score team points at all as they would only get awarded if the team had a full squad in Heroes and TvT.

Also, Gold Members historically had and still have a scoring advantage in many areas. They can gain more badges (levels) and many more FT points due to the unlimited quiz tracking. The team point advantage of being a GM is comparably moderate (17% for a C league player, 14% for B and 12.5% for A).

You make a very good point about the small teams being unable to register any team points at all under the old system. Under the new system somebody playing in a team of ONE can now earn the same number of team points as anyone else in League D.

I like the new scoring system. Seems fair for everyone.
