Hello all,

I've never posted in the sports forum before since I never really had a sport I was playing. I just recently got into the game of golf. I am a total beginner, and am in the middle of taking lessons at a nice 18-hole course. I love the game, and am doing lots of reading up on it. I haven't bought my clubs yet, anyone know some good brands or things I should look for in buying them?

Anyone else here enjoy the game? I'm looking to hear some of your stories, ideas, suggestions, and opinions on the game.

Best to you all, and here's wishing you an ace!

buy cheap knockoffs
these will still be from $200 to $500

make sure your teaching pro knows how to teach women
the game is different for the two sexes.

I think that it's a great game
haven't played in a long while though
too busy with other stuff in life...like work...blasted work

Like all sports equipment, it's very personal - you'll walk into the pro-shop pick up a club (in my case cricket bat) and you'll know it has your name on it - then you'll see the price!
Weeks later you'll be unable to resist and buy it(Them) and you'll never regret it! You'll cry when it breaks of old age.

Heehee, thanks for the information guys! I just got my set, graphite shafts with titanium drivers. I love it because it's light. Not too expensive, but a nice starter set. Now to hit the range . . .

I prefer steel myself
it plays the same way every time
graphite flexes too much
but you can get more club head speed with it
that is why women and seniors use graphite shafts.

I'm young enough and strong enough to generate good club head speed with the steel shafts...
