The NHL season is about two weeks away. Come one, come all and tip your way through the NHL! Rules: - One point for a correct tip. Ties are no longer possible in the NHL, as after a five minute overtime period, a shootout is played.
- Deadlines will be at the start of the first game noted in US Eastern time (FT+2 first five and final four weeks, FT+1 all others), most of which fall at 1pm Eastern, however, all weeks are noted. Only the first week has a late start of 7pm this year. There is a week that the first game starts at 12:30pm Eastern, 30 minutes earlier than normal.
- Default is equal to the higher of Wooden Spoon or six.
- Tips not in by the first game's faceoff will receive default score.
- We will tip 15 games each weekend (all Saturday and enough Sunday/Monday to equal 15).
- As per the last several years, we will not tip the midweek games around the All-Star weekend.
- If a tipper fails to lodge for four consecutive weeks, they will become inactive.
Bonus points: - One point for picking a result solo, or one of two, provided 12 tippers apply.
- One point for picking 12 or more of 15. This year's comp will determine next year's eligibility.
- Tippers will be ineligible for bonus points if they tip all homes/all aways or all bar one.

Hi I've been a member of FunTrivia for two years and have recently just joined the forums I hoped I could have tried the Rugby World Cup, but as that's well underway I was tempted to do the football but that's a round Robin, then I saw NHL I know I missed today but hope I could start from next week on will that be okay with you.

Llynfi, for the NHL games, there may be times that the same team plays both Saturday and Sunday (or if a game happens to fall on Monday night). They do not split the team between two different games. Also, your tips are in time, since the first one started at 7pm EDT. Yours came in before that. Welcome to the tipping comps as well! I missed getting my tips in this week somehow, but that's what happens when you have forty-eleven things to do...so I'll be on the list as a defaulter this week, gaining six points only (or wooden spoon if higher).

You gotta to use BOLD text to show which teams you are tipping While bolding is much preferred, the way Llynfi has done it is fine for me, as the teams they have picked are capitalized. Just to help, Llynfi, using bold like this is preferred. Just use the [/b] and [b] tags in reverse of how I've done it.

- Three games went beyond the allotted 60 minutes, with only one of those going beyond the five minute mark.
