It really annoys me when people who can't act are cast in a movie and you KNOW it's probably because of their looks. One actress that stands out in my mind is Tara Reid. She was horrible in American Pie 2! I didn't really pay attention in the first one but I bet there were TONS of actresses who could act so much better than her. *Arrgghh* That really irks me.(yes I said "irks") Oh! And all of the cast of "Lizze McGuire" with very few exceptions.But what about you all? Who do you think needs acting lessons?

I recently watched an old movie starring Bruce Dern called "Silent Running". Come to think of it, he has been poor in almost all the movies I have seen him in.

Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts--never liked a movie either was in--except Steel Magnolias that Roberts was in. I'm afraid if they relied on me for those huge salaries they'd be out of luck.

Cameron Diaz is a total JOKE. She is horrible. And I hate her little hip hugger pants. She is in movies to sell sex and that is it because she has zero talent. Zero.

I have to completely agree with not enjoying Julia Roberts. I have vetoed most of the movies she has been in, and I don't feel as if I am missing a thing.

I would say Brittney Spears! Not only is the worst Actress on screen but she is the worst singer I ever heard off!

Oh my, sounds like many people do not care much for Julia Roberts. I guess you can add me to the list! I think the worst was when she was cast as Tinker Bell in Robin Williams' remake of Peter Pan. If I were her, I'd be !

Just jumping in to say I adore Julia! She has had alot of great roles over the years. (Just my opinion) Not every role, mind you, but more often than not.

I hate to say this because I really do like him, even if he sucks, but... :turns head away from computer: Matt Dillon! Ugh, the only decent thing I've ever seen him act in was In & Out, but he STUNK in The Outsiders. Not to mention that he looked totally different from the character he was supposed to be. And I won't even mention Wild Things. :shudders: Just an all around bad actor.

I agree with those comments about Julia, I don't like her, either, and she's ugly, too! I'm probably the only one who thinks it but still.... Monica Potter looks a lot like her only much much prettier.

Firstly, I would just like to jump in to defend Cameron Diaz. I usually love her performances and often watch films which sound totally ghastly to me if she is in them... prime example being "There's Something About Mary"... though granted that was a total waste of my afternoon... I should have just watched my freshly painted wall dehydrate.

In turn I nominate Josh Hartnett (aka "plank man") and Vin Diesel (run away! run very fast!).

I find nothing particularly wrong with the acting skills of Mr Hartnett or Mr Diesel, but there is one actor I really can't tolerate - Freddie Prinze Jr. The man just can't act! He'd be doing the world a favour if he chose to deliver pizza instead of doing whatever he's doing now (making movies that is).

Count me in for Julia Roberts, I've never seen why people were so hot on her talents...the only time I saw her interesting was in America's Sweethearts...at least I think they called it that.

Here's a true confession, I see that Meryl Streep is a good actress, but I've never really enjoyed her performances myself. It's like Linda said there, maybe people see something that I don't. Could be I haven't seen that many movies lately.

Gwyneth Paltrow, jury's still out. Saw her on a plane with that film where she was overweight but the guy thought she was skinny. Not sure yet.

Wow! I must say that I love Julia Roberts and Josh Hartnett BUT I absolutely can't stand Jennifer Love Hewitt and I don't really like Freddie Prinze Jr. either...he always looks like he's trying really hard to remember his lines and she is just WAY too perky. It's annoying. Just my opinion.

I always hated George C. Scott - it's not that the man couldn't act, it's just that he always seemed to overact. On that note I nominate Jim Carey - aaahhhh - I just can't stand his big teeth and gurning they turn me right off.

And now I am going to be very controversial because I think that Marlon Brando is absolute overrated rubbish!!! Oh I feel SO much better now.

By the way I quite like Julia, but can totally understand the comments made - same with Gwynnie too Bruyere. By the way I thought Shallow Hal was totally disgusting and did nothing for fat people or any cause. Every laugh centred around one joke - fat people are funny and should be ridiculed. It was degrading.

The worst actor in history is The Rock a.k.a Dwayne Johnson. He is a horrible wrestler and he act like he is so tough that he can scared someone bigger then him!

I agree with Madonna not being a good actress. I wonder what happened at her household when Swept Away came out and bombed.

Keanu Reeves (not sure if I spelled that right and really don't care) is near the top of my very large list of bad actors. He plays the same role in every movie he is in. I'm always waiting on him to bust out the line "Whats up duuuuudes, lets have a gnarly party!!!"

Cuba Gooding Jr. is also up there. Talk about overacting. "Show me the money" has to be one of the worst scenes in movie history. The only movie I could stand him in was "Lightning Jack" where he didnt speak through the whole movie.

And then there is the good old action kickboxers. Steven Segal and Van Dam....enough said.

Have to agree about most of the chioces mentioned, particularly Jennifer Love Hewitt. Who in their right mind decided she was a good choice to play the wonderful Audrey Hepburn??? Julia Roberts is not awful but an Oscar??? No. Then again the Oscars don't always get it right. Adding a personal choice of my own I must mention Minnie Driver. She doesn't even pass oon the eye candy front. She is an attractive girl but would hardly be described as a raging beauty. I quite liked her in Circle Of Friends but it seemed to go downhill after that. Actor wise I think Brad Pitt is highly overratted and has a face I would never grow tired of slapping!

Worst Performance to Ever Win an Award by an Actor: John Lithgow in 3rd Rock From the Sun. A horrible show with horrible overacting.
