Remember, remember
We're already at November?

These were standard signs until 1964, but all on four lines, this is the first one I've found on three, in the middle of Gloucestershire.

This magnolia trunk, in Atlanta's Oakland cemetery, was fascinating from almost every angle, it was so twisted and gnarled.

(It's also sort of a Rorschach test - what shapes do you see?)

I took this photo a couple of years ago and not in November but I just came across it by chance today and thought I'd post it, for the day that's in it. Poppy!

Every parking area in the country has a notice like this, but this is the first old one I've found near Witney.

I guess it worked in that you can see the image. But not what I was going for. I looked at the guidelines and thought I did what it said but....

....I guess not.


Is it because I don't have the photo on Flickr or some other site like that? I refuse to use Photobucket anymore for anything.

I tried fiddling with it but it won't work. I assume this is a Google issue, it may not allow photo-sharing, i.e. the ability to display an image on another site. Flickr works (perhaps ertrum or Satguru could remind us all how to link images from there?) but I find Postimages easier - https://postimages.org/. Try it and see how you get on.

Now that I've figured it out (...all on my own and with no help from Flopsy whatsoever), I hope to contribute some more photos. I really enjoy Sister Seagull's pictures whenever he posts them. Really talented photographer.


Here's one that seems appropriate for this time of year. Some white-tailed deer here in central Illinois doing "deer stuff" in the woods.




Camera used is a Kodak Z612 EasyShare. Schneider-Kreuznach 35mm-420mm lens with 12X Optical Zoom. Auto setting.

Before 1964 all our signs had striped poles, but only the parking ones and a few others had yellow stripes. Many white striped ones survived but this is the first yellow one which hadn't been painted over. The sign itself is new but another nearby had the usual stripes and an old no cycling sign as well. Hemel Hempstead.

....also marmalade is a thing, not a who.
