has the red line 'you have already taken this quiz' feature been disabled again? i realize the check mark is a gold feature, but it's a pain to take the whole quiz before realizing you did it 8 months ago.

Agreed....it is a pain. In fact, it doesn't even bother telling you anymore and you only realise that you have taken it before when your ranking hasn't improved.

I think it is a bit unfair to make non-gold members suffer !!

It's bloody annoying after you have just played a 25 question quiz, only to find out that you've already played it.

If the USA's currency wasn't worth almost twice as much as ours, then I would become a gold member of FunTrivia. Apparently, the membership fee is $20US, which would be the same as $38 in Australian dollars!

There should be some sort of function for ordinary members, to warn them that they've already played a particular quiz.

Terry has already said in previous threads why this is infeasible at this time.

I agree with nmck and the others, there should be something there to show you have played the game before. Does seem abit unfair that we have to pay nearly $40 - that is abit to much for me.

I was under the impression that nothing was going to change if the gold membership wasn't purchased. The gold members would get some new benefits, but the rest of us would not have anything taken away.

(I went back through the posts to find the one that LadyM is referring to. I think this is the one she's talking about.)

ladyejayne: I believe that was Terry's intention. However, the state of the server and the computer ended up being that he would have had to discontinue offering that as an option for *everyone*. But with the gold membership, he decided that the checkmarks could be continued with that.

just to be clear here: as i said ion my original post, i understand that the check mark is reserved for golds. i understand that. i am not asking for the return of the check mark, or anything so you can tell you played a quiz just by looking at the title. but i thought that it would still be feasible to get a warning once you actually open the quiz, that you have already played it.

anyway, i'd also like to say here for the records, ten bucks a year is about the top price i'd pay for membership to any but the most essential and superb web site. maybe you can intruduce... uh... bronze membership?
