The three of the four Led Zeppelin band members were in the audience. Bonham's son was on drums.
One word summary: wow!

Nice. A timeless 70s song. The great thing about it is it has a fantastic melody. It isn't just screaming into the mic with a pounding beat.

The Wilson sisters have covered quite a few Zeppelin songs under the name "The Lovemongers". There are a couple of them on the "Singles" motion picture soundtrack. I think they do a great job on all their stuff. :-)

But I might be just slightly partial to Ann Wilson's voice.

far out, I've just spent the evening on youtube watching The Lovemongers. I wasn't aware they sang under that moniker. I watched them do The Battle of Evermore three times :-)

Yes! "The Battle of Evermore" is my favorite cover that they do. They absolutely kill it on that one. Nancy on the acoustic guitar!

Glad I could turn you on to their little side project. There are a lot of bands that do that. Make a few records or perform some gigs under a different name.

My favorite thing about "Stairway" has always been the tempo change later in the song. There is another band that I love that used this same sped up tempo on the outro of one of their songs.

I always tell people that this band is very much like Zeppelin in the sonic sense. Same kind of atmosphere in their music. Their guitar player and drummer in particular are two of my favorite musicians.

I'll let you compare the two songs and see if you agree with me.

Also, check out the 12 string Gibson Firebird that Perry is playing. They are very rare. I think that they only made them for two years, '67 and '68.
