Turned out great. You must have had some elf help with that.

A tall elf, with a ladder. I have to tell him not to put the baubles too high up or I can't reach to change the batteries, which is why there aren't any at the top. Nothing worse than a bauble with a dead battery at this time of year.

Where's your tree topper?

There should be an Angel or star up there somewhere.

Actually that tree has stayed where it is because when I moved into this house, then barely five years old (the house, not me), the tree was still relatively small and I tried to dig it up - only to find that its roots were already wrapped round the phone cable... oops. In this country if you damage a phone cable on your land you might have to pay for a new one whereas if the phone company decides to replace it because a tree ate it, well that's on them. I think. Anyway, I left it where it was and now it's, well, not small.

That's how it is here too.

I had to cut down the large evergreen in my front yard because the roots were breaking through the terra cotta sewer pipes.

Yes, it's been raining for most of the last few months here. I still went out every week as it doesn't spoil the photos.
