My guess is that this weirdness happened because I scored a zero on "The Walking Dead" and that confused matters.
Backing that thinking up, I have played 14 Duels today, and the front page says I have done 13/15.

If you score zero in a Duel, the game does not register that duel as having been played. Click on The Walking Dead link again. You won't get the notice of your score being cut by 50% for playing it again. You should be able to play it a second time. Yes, it is a glitch in the game.

The one time I scored 0 it didn't show as my having played the game but it also wouldn't let me play again. Essentially it considered me as having played but didn't want to give someone a matchup against someone who scored a 0.

I guess the glitch was fixed. I've scored zero twice. The first time I didn't try to play it again. Someone I know here told me he was able to play his zero game a second time. He lost. I was able to play the second time but made sure I scored less than 50 points. I didn't think it would be fair to play the duel a second time and win.

An improvement which was introduced about a year ago whereby you are now able to "See how it will look!" prior to submission, is now coming back with the message "Not online".

Whilst it's not preventing me from submitting the crossword, it has been a useful addition to ensuring that all is 100% before signing it off.

Just moving this over the page, hoping that it won't become "lost" from sight!

Is there a glitch in "who's the expert"? I woke this AM at 275, won my first play, thought it would show 276, waited until noon CST for reset. I'm still at 275.

I don't see you listed as a winner in any set, over the last 24 hours. Are you positive you won your set?

Did your division reach the minimum required size? If you played early morning, it may not have - you need (I think) 5 players.

As I'm not a GoldMember, I can't see my history from this AM, but YES, I did see 1/?? in the topic. I played at 7:20AM EST, I think.

I've scanned the game details and I don't see a minimum number of players. It may be there BUT I don't see it.

Speaking of "who's the expert" game details, it shows that there are 200 topics available, yet I've won 275. I wonder if an editorial correction may be in order!?!

I have been tracking the topics that appear for over a year and I have identified 619 topics that have appeared over the past year. (Some people have higher win totals because many topics have been retired.) The master list is apparently significantly larger than 619 but due to a bug, some categories (Art, Rock and Roll, Baseball, Flags and Symbols, etc.) are not appearing. Furthermore, 142 of the 619 topics available for play are not selectable as part of the perk "Change the Future", making them significantly less frequent. These include world languages (Chinese, French, Spanish), some authors (Dan Brown, Jane Austen, Suzanne Collins, Charles Dickens, George RR Martin), some specific musicians (Elton John, David Bowie, Aerosmith), specific TV shows (ER, LOST, MASH) and so forth.

This is the very definition of a minor issue. But I would like to see it be fixed at some point.

Could the topic have been 'Name the Player'? There is no winner listed for the 150-900 group, so it looks like there weren't enough players. It happened to me, last week. I 'won' my group, but there were only four of us, so no credit :-(

All hourly games have a minimum participation (between 3 and 5 depending on which game it is) per division to award a victory in that division. It's just that with the dynamic system used by most games, this does no longer usually come into play.

Unfortunately this system is not suitable for Expert as performance in one very specialized category is not at all predictive for what you get in another. The new allocation based on wins instead of level is more balanced than the old one - but like any static system, it inherently isn't perfect and occasionally a division may fail to fill.

Can anyone tell me why I can't remove a couple of messages in the posts in our team room please? I'm the team leader, and one of the members has asked me to remove a post - but it's not letting me.

Would it be possible to include the category in the "Upcoming topics:" section on the Who's the Expert page? It can be ambiguous e.g. now it shows "German" as coming up in 5 hours but there is no indication whether this refers to German [World] or German [History].

Answer to samak
Level 55 change the future change category
German history can be changed
German world can't be changed
Yesterday someone has changed a category with
German thus it was German history because german
World is not a category changeable.

The description of today's duel topic of the day: It's the last day of the year. For our fellow Hawaiians, they'll be amongst the last people in the world to live in 2018. Let's take a tour of this island state of America as the year draws to a close. (Topic of the day: December 31, 2020)

I realize Hawaii is a somewhat remote state, but I do believe they are finishing 2020 rather than 2018...
