Something odd that I've never seen in Word Wizard before, 2 options the same.

The 6 options were:
coziness
reverberate
pollack
display
chorus
chorus

Had the correct answer been "chorus", would it have accepted one as correct and the other wrong, or would either have been correct, or would either have been wrong?

As far as I know, it just compares text strings, so either would have been correct.

I wonder if it is at all possible that like the list of Expert wins which shows at the top of the list how many wins you have that on the list of quiz list gained it could also show the total number of quiz lists claimed so you don't have to scroll through the whole list to see how many you have.

Is Terry on well-earned holidays or unavailable at present?

I still can't remove any posts that need removing in our Team Room.

It's not urgent, but if a player has requested a post be removed, I need to be able to do it for that person. Team Leaders don't have many tools they can use, but this was/is one. It needs to be restored by a person with the know how, please.

The following question came up on my Daily Game today:

SCI/TECH: If you multiply all the numbers from 1 to 10 together and take that result in seconds, exactly how many days will this be?

Whilst this would be simple to resolve, it's hardly a suitable question for a round where speed is essential!

When that happens, you can submit a correction on the question after you finish the game, and an editor can then remove the question from timed games. The correction note is the key to giving editors access to that particular tool.

One day =86400 secondes
86400=24(h)X3600(sec)
24=6X4
3600=9X8X5X10
10!=1x2x3x4x5x6x7x8x9x10
For the solution eliminate the 4,6,9,8,5,10(gives 86400 sec=1 day)
It left 1,2,3,7
Multiply 1x2x3x7=42
Answer 42 days
Impossible to resolve in a few secondes

Thanks LT, I will try to remember that when I next come across similar questions.

Just make it clear what the issue is - something on the lines of 'this question is fine, but doesn't belong in a timed game' makes it easy for the editor.

I am having trouble upgrading to gold membership. My password does not work on the payment page. I am not receiving the requested email to allow me to change my password. The alternate method using my mobile won't work as the only number the site seems to have is for my former landline and my mobile, by which I could receive a code to make the change, is absent. I am baffled as how to proceed. Help, please.

I don't think we can help you here - the payment page is managed by Paypal, so you would need contact Paypal support to get help on that issue.

Of course your Paypal password is rather sensitive, because a person could use that to make payments in your name, so they are not making it easy to reset. You may be able to make a payment without using the Paypal account (check closely on the payment pages - they are hiding that option somewhat and it may not be offered in every country) or you may be able to open a new account using a different email address.

Today's Destination is Somalia. Just a small problem with the Daily Bus Ride. The flag graphics shows a flag that was superseded in 1991.

I believe it was correct.

Somaliland is not the same as Somalia - it is a breakaway state.

Out of context question ( seen in today’s “My Daily Quiz” ).

#3. Sci / Tech : Geometry : Considering A Room
What is the surface area of the room in square feet?
Answer: (A number only. Do not put any words.)

Kinda hard to calculate with no ‘givens’ LOL

Did you send a correction note? I know that quiz and am trying to remove all the questions from stand alone games, but need correction notes to enable me to do it.

My daily quiz set up choose three categories
If category math is too difficult, why have you chosen this category.
Conclusion change the category math and choose another category.

I think I got them all. Quiz title was in the post, so I just played and sent a CN on each question to myself, then quick-fixed them.

Terry,
Just now in a Crystal Ball game, at the 59th minute of the game, the final clue of the game appeared:

"The first four letters of the word match the first four letters in failed guesses over 20 times."

At that point, there didn't appear to be any words with failed guesses more than 20 times. With 5 seconds to go in the game, nearly a minute later, I refreshed the page and found that there were actually only 18 words with failed guesses consisting of the letters *chil* (the winning word was chilblains).

Why the discrepancy? Any chance that could be looked at and tuned up a bit? The clues are fairly important in trying to pin down a winning word and it doesn't help that they're not that helpful sometimes.

I can send you the page if you'd like to see for yourself. Thanks!

The discrepancy is a semantic one, it seems - "failed guesses over 20 times". Did a few of those 18 words get guessed more than once? Then it would indeed be more than 20. Still confusing of course.

The fill in the blanks blurb says that you can qualify for the badge by answering 10 correct in 80 seconds. There are fifteen questions. Do you get to select the ten that you want to answer?

I know the teirs actually require 14 correct in a specified time so it is probably just the old wording has to be revised.

One of my individual daily challenges today requires me to play a quiz by "vendome".

Unfortunately when I type his name into the search box, it says no quizzes match my query.

Must be a hiccup. I don't care about the point but just letting you know for future reference smilee
