By "Quick Access" I mean the link on the home page, under Community Activity for New Quiz Authoring Posts. I can't give a url for that, other than the home page, because once I click on a chat thread it's the url for the thread (I think).

If I click on the first thread under the New Authoring Posts, currently "20 Questions Single Question Game", I am taken here:

(This thread is an example, same thing happens for others too when accessed from the home page links.)

The problem with making a new post persists. Still taken to page that says Your Response Has Been Posted, not to any part of the chat thread. (as reported in #1291934 - Tue Jun 29 2021 05:00 PM Re: Minor Issues above)

Still doesn't work for me either - I reported the process I went through in #1291938 above.

Just had a glitch in the GMM game. I worked my way through the questions quite quickly - probably less than two minutes - and when I submitted the answers, I got this message:

The question set that you just played has expired. Either the server restarted while you were playing, or you played just as the tournament was closing.

I refreshed the page and played again only to discover that my time - 300 seconds - was likely an accumulation of the first and second games. I wasn't anywhere near the cutoff time for a new question set for either game. Wanted to give a head's up in case this is happening a lot and needs some attention.

From the time of your post, it seems very possible that you played your first game just as the clock struck 2pm which is indeed not a changeover for GMM. You may have hit a database lock while it was resetting hourlies by submitting in the exact millisecond or so.

(It would possibly have saved your game if you had just reloaded the result, causing a second submit)

Wes, the time of my second game shows on my results page as 1:25 pm so not at the changeover. I played the previous game just a few minutes earlier. The only other thing that I can think of is that I played from a page that had been sitting there for a while without being refreshed just prior to playing. It shouldn't make a difference as clicking the link to the game on the home page should bring up the current game. I'll try it again later to see if that's the issue.

The site had a small outage about that time. That caused your game to not process the results. One can tell that there was an outage because the Quiz of the Hour disappears after the site comes back until the next Quiz of the Hour rollover.

"The Everything Challenge" badge link seems to have disappeared from the Challenge ladder, both regular display and alphabetic. I reached the badge via the "2020 Hindsight" page and the hotlink to "the everything". I tried to "pin the challenge" and was informed that "challenge is already pinned".

Maybe I've just been out of the loop and missed an announcement or something, but the "Tower" is blank in the "Level-Specific" section -- none of those challenges show up. In fact, also missing is "The Centurion Champs," which had since been moved from Level-Specific to Retired.

Have you guys completed all of the "missing" challenges?

I changed the default setting on that page from "Complete & Incomplete" to "Incomplete". People usually go to that page to look for challenges to do -- it made more sense to change the default view. You can change the view at the top to view those you have completed too.


** I have added a filtering exception, so that if you have a challenge pinned, it will be visible no matter what complete-status filter is in use.

Could we make that default setting configurable (or just make it default to last used)? The suddenly shriveled list managed to confuse even me. I thought I misclicked...

I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the Badge Announcement thread but I thought I'd try here first. The Daily Game Monthly Badge is not listed in the View Game Details section of the Daily Game.

The Chat Boards are acting up again. When clicking on a thread to read the latest response I've been taken to the first page on the two threads I tried. Which two? Tell a Story and Change a Letter on the General Chat Board.

Umm, Playing Gold Madness a few minutes ago, I received a message halfway through that I had already played this game. I returned to look at the scores to see that I had been credited with just 6 questions. A bit annoying when it is a Team challenge game.

Similarly to Windrush's comment above, I just played a duel and got the message that I had been penalized for reloading the game, either intentionally or deliberately, when I had not. Very annoying when I would have won by a substantial amount

Can anyone please tell me how to remove those ongoing messages that appear at the top of every page - re state of play and who's won what etc? I find them a little distracting.

Go to the Gold Member Section on the Home Page, and you see various options. I think it's the "What's Up Bar" - you can switch it off there.

Glad I'm not the only one who finds those messages distracting, Creedy. Adding on to dippo's info, I've found that when I've cleared my browser history, they return although they are still marked as off. If yours is the same, it works to go and turn them on then off again.

Terry -- I told Wesley of a code issue recently, and he asked me to post it here for you to look into.

I go to the Challenge Tower page and to (let's say) "Quizzer" challenge. I can do one of two things: click its name, or click the blue + next to it.

- If I click on the challenge name, I'm taken to the challenge-specific page -- in this case, https://www.funtrivia.com/chalinfo.cfm?id=82&own=-1&addheader=1
- If I just click the blue + instead, a text box will pop up with the requirements and challenge text. In both cases, at the bottom of the text is this line: "Starting Point: You can try here."

If I click the "try here" text from the challenge page, the link goes to a related page -- in this case, "Trivia Quizzes", www.funtrivia.com/quizzes . But if I click "try here" from the pop-up text window instead, it tries to go to this link ... https://www.funtrivia.com/mychallenges.cfm?filter=0&complete=1#c.link# -- and won't take me anywhere.

I posted because some 50+ challenges have the same "try here" link problem.

Terry, before you changed the format of the information showing the mixed quizzes on each of the quiz pages, there used to be a "recent scores" link which is now missing from each of those pages...here....
