I could not find anywhere to put this query so thought this might be a good place.

Our Teams daily game on a Thursday has a theme of ANIMALS.

In today's question set for Animals I got this question. I can see by the wording of the question which includes the word "Squidding" why perhaps the system picked this as an Animal question but should it really be in the category.

QUESTION WAS

9. With the most recent set of Mars rovers, the NASA engineers were very concerned about squidding. What, pray tell, were they afraid of?

Your Answer: The parachute not opening properly

It's not a biggie but I thought I would mention it.

Hi, I found the quiz that includes that question. Looks like we should move it over to the Thematic Animals category in General since it includes questions that involve other fields. I will message an Animals editor to move it over so this shouldn't happen again. Thanks!

Thanks. Like I said not a biggie and you can see why it was picked as an animal question.

A couple of the 'recently awarded badge' lists include irrelevant info about 'biggest fan' achievements. This one, for example:

https://www.funtrivia.com/badge_winners.cfm?bid=401

and this one:

https://www.funtrivia.com/badge_winners.cfm?bid=56

I have no idea why or if it's an easy fix and it's not a major problem, just rather odd.

Twice I've attempted to set up a new post on my team board, but without success. On the first occasion it didn't appear, and when I tried to post it again, I received the message ... sorry this has already been posted! But it's still not showing!

It is a message that I need to post today. Can anybody suggest where the problem lies?

I believe I've sorted the problem. The heading used was the same as one used in the past, which may have been why it didn't register?

That's right - you need to have a unique heading for every post.

Many thanks, I probably should have realised sooner.

This isn't an "issue" in the sense of "something that should be corrected," but I just noticed, as I'm sure others have throughout the day, that the site just recently reached 150,000 quizzes. That's a milestone worth mentioning!

Absolutely! I brought it up amongst our editors a week ago as we honed in on the last fifty. It's a neato feat-o. smile

Well, and frankly I think it's a testament to a whole lot of people. The people who PLAY the quizzes, of course; authors, whether they've written one quiz or a hundred (or two-and-a-half thousand -- but who's counting); the editors, who in my experience have shown me far more patience and grace than I deserved; Wesley and all the moderators and administrators, who keep the peace (to say the very least); and Terry, who has given a huge portion of his life to keeping this site alive and thriving.

I don't say any of that to sound corny; I say it because I've always thought even a little encouragement and acknowledgment is often too hard to come by, yet showing gratitude to others is something people can always do -- there's never a "wrong" time for it.

Small issue - one of my daily challenges is "You're in luck! Score doesn't matter. Simply play in the Quiz of the Hour game today." There's a link in "Quiz of the Hour" but it takes me straight to the homepage, not the game.

I just got sent to the homepage too, after sending a compliment to an author on a quiz. It's a bit of a problem, because I hadn't rated the quiz yet!

agony, that might be a browser issue. When I click to send a compliment on a quiz my browser (Safari) opens up a new tab. After I send, I'm taken to the home page on that tab but the original tab is still open for rating the quiz and finishing.

If I'm sending a message to a quiz author and need to rate the quiz, I type in message, pick my rating, then leave the quiz. I then see the screen telling me I've earned the 20 points for rating the quiz & my message has been sent.

Good point, Mira. If I want to send an author a note I click on the 'Send author detailed note' link which automatically opens a new tab.

Have just played a "Fill Me In" game, and came across a question headed: "Drop a Letter 15 Questions : Word Melt 6"

Presumably this type of question should not be part of this schedule, as there is no way of knowing the previous answer?

When you get a question like that, click the link to say that it does not belong in the game. The individual questions that have been added because someone thought they would work (or accidentally clicked that link, which happens) are sometimes inappropriate, and can only be removed when a player hits the Not appropriate message.

Anyone else have trouble getting the mouse to click on an answer? It varies from time to time as it affects different games. I'll click every answer in a question and nothing happens. I have to go back to the previous question and use the Tab/arrow to go down to the question that wouldn't work. Then the next question following wil be okay. On a tablet, there is no Tab/arrow so I have to scrap the game.

You don't have to scrap the game on a tablet but you will get a higher score for taking more time. There are times when playing a timed game on my tablet an answer won't register. I use the same method you describe using with a mouse. I go to a previous question, tap on the answer again, scroll down to the "I don't want to play!" question and it usually takes the answer. Other times I go to the next unanswered question and hope I remember to scroll upwards to the stubborn, uncooperative question to record the answer.

I'm not sure these are being dealt with promptly. 13 days ago I had the question:
What interesting detail decorates the house No 131, High Street?
Answer: ( 8 words : Only one EXACT answer is accepted for this qn.)

I clicked the link to say that it does not belong in the game but I got it again today (and clicked the link again).
It comes from this quiz:

The issue has been noticed - several editors have seen questions they know they used that for reappearing. Unfortunately, once the question has entered that game, we do not actually have any other tools to use to get it out of there - even the standard way we can remove questions from timed games doesn't do the trick.

For now, I can only recommend that you keep clicking, and hope the bug gets fixed soon. There is little point reporting it every time. Fortunately, there do not seem to be too many of these erroneously-added questions - but I know that is little compensation when you are trying for a good score and get bamboozled by one.
