Regarding the "Smartest of the Smart" badge upgrades that are in the pipeline, are the stats for that still being tracked?

The reason I ask is because the highest winning score of each hour stopped being displayed on the "Winners" page around the time of the last design overhaul of the site.

Since the last award of the badge was just on Dec 15, it's obviously still being checked.

Note that the new upgrade as planned will not be retroactive (none of the win count badges except the GC ones are) and in fact not even be able to count your first win toward the upper tiers since it did not save the category your first win was achieved in.

Ok, didn't check.

Could the scores be put back on that page?

Awesome! Thanks Terry, you're a hoopy frood for sure. smile

By the way the same issue exists for the Mixed Winner Badge. High scores for the hour are not listed on the "Winners" page. I do realize that as long as the badge is still being awarded then it's not necessary for it to be on the page. But I still like seeing it there.

Thanks Terry! Could you please also include the highest score for each set as it was previous to your site changes. Thanks very much!

Question on this one...I'm presuming these auto-tiered if you reached a specific level? As I've been on the quiz side for nearly 19 years, and am level 95, would I be in Tier 7 right off?

Take a look, Dave. When I checked mine it showed me at Tier 6, so you should show as Tier 7.

dg_davce, if you look on your profile, you will see that you are indeed at tier 7.

Could you consider revising the requirement that a minimum number of players in total need to have taken part in WTS, please? This disadvantages players who are not in the USA. I got the overall best score in the set which just finished and had to dig deep to find out why it didn't count.

Edit Reason: remove number quoted as this seems to have changed

The target is 80 now, not 100. Having no cutoff at all would greatly disfavor US players (as Europeans and Australians would have the "easy" rounds with a low population effectively to themselves). Having a high cutoff disfavors those who can't catch enough attempts.

By choosing the right cutoff, these two trends mostly balance out - Non-Americans get fewer chances (five games in the last 24 hours did not qualify, four on the day prior), but the chances they do get are worth more (since it's much easier to win against 80 than against 160).

When I posted, I believed it was 100, as stated in the badge write up, but worked out that it must be 80 and edited the post, rather than delete it.

I was unfortunate that my win came with 79 players in total, short by just one person!

The challenge description still has 100 (in the part I cannot change - the "requirements" line). Same for Mix Winner.

Hourly Mix Winner doesn't appear to be upgrading correctly. PDAZ has had the highest score six times with 80+ players in the past couple of days, yet is still at Tier 1. (The badge description should also indicate the number of times won in the past so we can monitor our progress, along with the Pot of Gold daily upgrades.)

I'm sure when I started playing it was a minimum of 200 players that had to play for it to count. Could be wrong as memory not what it was as some of my quiz scores show.

The minimum number has been revised to 80. If a player is shown as having the highest score on the winners' page, he or she should be credited with the overall win. It's working fine on the Difficult game but not on the Medium/Mixed game.

Thanks -- bug fixed. All wins have been credited correctly but advance check was broken.

It will advance PDAZ correctly (and anyone else) when next won.

Maybe the “Triple Win” mini could be turned into an upgradable mini.

It would have to get a redefined game selection as tier 7 would be nine games - which currently means all of the games running more than once per day, including FMI and GM Madness.

I think I'd want to have an additional hourly or two before thinking of a Nonuple Win here...
