I got a weird badge notification email this morning which didn't seem to relate to a specific challenge - there was no badge name or description of requirements. I don't think it had any impact on level either.

Well strangely enough I thiught I had noted it prior and was thinking with the small few thousands to get to the next level I would attain 145 in short time......and it was the main reason I hurried up to complete the challenge which I had ignored for a time.

Same here. My level, however, has increased - I am now 223.

I think that odd message is for the new monthly challenge on the daily new question game. I got one as well.

Yes, it's definitely the Monthly New Question badge, happened to me as well. It doesn't show up on your profile page either, nor on the team 'Badges' page. I did gain a level from it though, so at least that works.

Oh, I see. It seems it hasn't been added to the Tower of Challenges yet. Oh well, it's nice to wake up in the morning and find a new badge laugh!

Could we please have a "Last Month's Results" link on this page....

https://www.funtrivia.com/today/thismonth.cfm

Thank you!

I second the above suggestion and would like to see a "Last Month's Results" page in Daily, Mind Melt and Who am I as well, as I don't think those games have one already.

Interesting - will investigate the Monthly New Question badge issue. Perhaps I never added it!

Thank you Terry. Could you now please also add it to the list of badges on the NQ game page as well as adding last month's results. Thank you!

Done Barbarini. Added "Last month scores" link to the "monthly scores" page, so we don't keep cluttering the main game page.

Thanks a lot for making the effort, Terry!

However, the Who am I last month's scores pages is broken, the link (https://www.funtrivia.com/whoami/lastmonth_scores.html) brings me to the tournament ending Feb 01 10 instead of last month.

The Mind Melt link (https://www.funtrivia.com/mindmelt/lastmonth_scores.html) is also weird, brings me to a "this page cannot be found" page.

It's that time again: time to add some new things to the site.

I'm looking for any suggestions for new games, new challenges, new anything. Any thoughts you have to make the site even more interesting please post here!

I've sent you a PM in the Forums with one of my ideas.

Looking back to a previous feature, if the security could be improved from then the old-style blogs would be very welcome. I'm glad we have the virtual ones but the versatility of the full version gave us all the chance to really interact and get to know each other.

There are still a lot of pages in the old format, it would be nice to have them all in the newer format.

Thanks, will check that out shortly!

Agreed! Please feel free to list frequently-used pages that are still in the old format. I'd like to knock those out first before the rarely-used pages are finally updated.

I'll throw an idea of mine into the public ring for discussion: I would like to have a game on FT that isn't the short sprint style we have right now. However, since not everyone would want to frequently play a long game, it shouldn't be a highly competitive game and certainly not in Everything or similar.

My idea would be to use the interface of quick questions (and the same question base), but with the modification that you won't get an info screen - you just get a right or wrong and the next question in one. This makes it suitable for fast play. Now the game would be timed to 10 minutes and the goal is to get as many questions right in that time as you can (with a bit of a penalty for wrong answers to discourage random clicking).

The game would be daily and semi-competitive: You have your personal best, a tiered badge and a GM stat that lets you track your best against others - but there would not be a daily winner and neither would it be a team game. You compete against yourself and against historic high scores only.

Would this be something you'd like to play?

I would play that, Wes. I've often gotten 20 or more in a row correct, playing the Quick Quiz, and wished there was some sort of reward for that, and maybe a penalty for getting the 21st question wrong. The idea of fast click questions with rewards and penalties for a final total sounds good. (And, to be honest, I rarely read the info screen in the Quick Quiz, because the whole point is the 'quickness'.)

Sounds good to me, a race in a short time for as many answers as possible, much like on Mastermind which I've played along with since it began.

For those who need the comparison: 10 minutes of game time is probably around 60 questions for a casual player (1 per 10 seconds, equal to a ~90 sec time on mixed after discounting the load times) and around 200 questions for a pro (slightly faster than 1 per 3 seconds, equal to a ~20 sec time).

These numbers would also roughly be the range of badge tiers.

Yes, I'd play it but I'm not sure how often. Getting an uninterrupted 10 minutes is harder than it sounds!
200 questions in 10 minutes sounds excessive to me, even for the top tier. That rate is manageable in a short burst but to be able to sustain that for 10 minutes seems like too much to ask. Still, if the game gets up you can always test it out for reasonableness before going live.
