The message about the new mini sent me to the old listing, and I could sort there by name, so I have just bookmarked that page for future reference. It doesn't look nearly as impressive, but it sorts by name, which I often find useful. In the new page, maybe careful selection of filters would work even better, but I haven't experimented yet. It does let you filter for target types of badge.

Thank you for all these lovely new badges, what a nice surprise! I like the new page layout very much but I too should like to see the badges able to be listed in alphabetical order which I have found very useful smile

If you are a gold member you'd an list the badges alphabetically from your profile page. If you are not a gold member, you can do it from any gold member's profile page.

Is there a cunning plan to make the old "Fifteen Categories" badge upgradable, now that we have all these new minis? It would seem to make sense.

Stedman, there are not only plans to upgrade the 15 categories (which does still look at the "top 50%" criterion) but there's also the new Polymath which will trigger directly from these badgelets (which do not have those quality requirements but need significantly higher numbers of quizzes).

Polymath will not be an exact parallel to "Quiz Around the Clock" by the way which would just make it a glorified 20 categories. It'll work somewhat differently and while the first few tiers won't be too far out of this world, getting it to 5 or above will be very challenging!

Some teaser stats (assuming that the tiers I calculated this morning will be the final ones):

9901 authors will receive at least one of those badgelets right now. 6977 of them (71%) will have exactly that.

Of the 2924 who will get more than one, 678 can look forward to having at least five, 250 at least 10 and only 25 can claim the complete rainbow immediately.
2705 authors will have a least one bronze (tier 2) or better, 833 a gold (tier 4) or above and 198 at least one crown.

Polymath will be awarded 250 times; one of those will be tier 6 and three more tier 5. Even that one tier 6 owner will still be 174 quizzes away from tier 7. Only 10 authors have at least half of what they need for tier 7.

Thanks for answering, Wes. But it really is far more difficult than it was before. I don't find the tags are helping. It's still taking much longer to go through. And, honestly, I want ease when I am playing this game...I don't mean easy questions...I mean I want it to be as easy as possible to find what I am looking for. And this way just doesn't do it for me. The other way was much simpler.

Alphabetic view added to pull-down menu and option next to help.

Hope this does what you're looking for?

Just want to say thanks for the new Piece of Cake badge, I know I’ve asked for this one a number of times over the years so I’m most happy with that.

All of the new "Author Rainbow Mini-Badges" have been awarded. Authors should go check out what you have won!

I suppressed the mailbox / email messages for these to stop people from getting spammed with 20 mails. I will send one generic message to all quiz authors letting them know about these.

If you want to see some REAL author prowess, go here, then click on "Mini":

10 crowns, 4 diamonds, 3 platinum and 3 gold - by far the most advanced towards a perfect set. Which, however, is still 174 quizzes away. Good luck and have fun!

Love the 20 new minis spreading across the page! When will we know what is required for Polymath? I can't wait to see if I have qualified for that. smile

LT, it might be hidden somewhere among all those rainbow badgelets.

Anyone with a full rainbow will definitely qualify Polymath. The opposite isn't the case - there are way more Polymath winners than complete rainbows.

Wow! These are really cool! Great job coming up with interesting names.

So let's see I need only 784 more quizzes online to get my polymath crown...I guess I better get busy! At my current pace I should be earning that gem in 2070!

I guess it shows just how awesome many of our writers here are to even be mostly the way there.

Great set of badges and something fun to shoot for!

She's an amazing quizwriter. One of ours but we haven't seen her here since last December. We've tried to get in touch to no avail. If anyone has any way of contacting her or her family, would you please do that and let us know how she is. It's been a worry.

Oh - my - goodness! All those lovely mini badges - it's like Fun Trivia Christmas day!

And double wow, I'm a Polymath too, the equivalent of the Fun Trivia Nobel Prize laugh

(I don't have a speech prepared, ladies and gentlemen, but it's been an honour to have contributed to this amazing site)

Oh, and I really love the fact you've listed all our individual quizzes under each category. I think sometimes, Oh I must write a quiz about such and such, but have I done so already? But I couldn't be bothered scrolling through them all to verify. This clarifies everything. It's an excellent idea.

I so appreciate this new format and the hard work that went into setting it all up.

Thank you so very much.
