Just a reminder, Terry, the Global Challenge page says that the next challenge will start today around noon FT time.

Can anyone tell me how I can find out if a player is an Immortal as a result of participation in a former Global Challenge? Is there anywhere I can access a list of Immortals?

Thanks,
Lizard

I don't know if there is a full list available to the public, but if you want to know about a specific person you can always check their profile page.

Lizard, you can see if any of the top 125 people who are currently playing the Global are Immortal.

From the Global home page... Global Stats... Top Player Lists... Top 125 Players (Normal)

Wow, so there aren't even 30 new immortals in the top 125 list as it stands.

I feel like that's pretty normal at this point. We've had a LOT of Global Challenges and they are typically a tournament for dedicated, long-term players. At the frequency they occur, most of the people playing are probably grinding high-level badges. Not sure if it's a deterrent, but it means that list is going to look like that unless we have people joining and latching on en masse.

Looks to be a pretty normal GC in terms of overall speed - we're at 1350 games and still have a bit to go. It might wind up slightly under 1500, but not by much.

We're seeing fewer new Immortals simply because we have fewer new members compared to old ones. As long as the objective game difficulty (rounds available to make it to Immortal - target is to remain between 1440 and 1560) remains about the same, the fairest way is not to change anything.

Well with only 16 new spots left I wouldn't made it anyway maybe you can make it 50 since it's the end of the world as we know it?

I think they ought to close it. Other people worked hard and made it, you should have done the same. We are almost at 1500 right now, and it only took me a little over 1100. 1500 is enough for anybody.

It has to be stopped manually so if Terry is unavailable it will keep going until he is.

Maybe I'm not a Triviagod/godness or of superior intelligence as you seem to be saying that you are but I did play every game the best that I could but if we were all trivia stars what fun would that be for you?

I'm somehow sure that as more and more people play from year to year that EVENTUALLY there MAY be NO new immortal players in the top 125.
As the header on the "global stats" page shows right now:

There are currently 105 players who have reached level 10 and become Immortals.
The global challenge comes to an end if this number hits 100.
There are currently 14 Immortals who have never won the Immortal badge before.
The global challenge comes to an end if this number hits 30.

At what point does the word IF change to WHEN?

Other posters have indicated that generally 1500 games constitute a set. I'm currently at 1498 and have missed 8 games.

FrappMaster, the challenge should theoretically have been over after the first set on Saturday. However, it is a manual process that ends it so it keeps going until Terry intervenes and ends it. My recommendation is to keep checking every set until we see it has been ended.

Will the top number hit 200 before the bottom number hits 30 and the intervenor flips the stuck switch to OFF?

Thanks, Terry (even if you did it while I was in the middle of playing). Glad to hear you are OK. When someone disappears for a few days, it's easy to get worried about them given the current situation.

Hi. I was in position 25 of the Global Challenge normal mode for the last few days in line to win the Global Challenge Tier 3 upgrade.
I hadn't yet played this evening's session before the game was closed down. Could you tell me if the scores for this evening's session will be counted towards the final result? Thank you.
