The discussion about this movie is going on in the Movie Corner but I just had to post a thread about the book here. It was excellent! I have read reviews, plots, etc, about the film & I know it's based on the book, but I don't think it could possibly catch the real pain you feel when you read it. I was crying so hard at the end! It's definitely one I am adding to my collection!

I read it two weeks ago.

It was touching, but it didn't come across to me as sad as it let on it would be in the beginning of the book.

I haven't seen the movie yet.

I haven't read A Walk to Remember yet, but I have read other books by the same author and I loved them. (All but one made me cry.) Message in a Bottle was great and so was The Rescue. He is just a fantastic author.
I have seen A Walk to Remember and I loved the movie, but I have heard from several people that the book is better. I can't wait to read it. It's on my list!

I just finished the book. I don't want to be a spoilsport, but I really didn't like it. I thought it was very predictable and I didn't like the style. The story is ok, but not very realistic. Perhalps that explains why the movie completely mangles the story.

I liked the movie better, but that's probably just because I saw the movie first. In the first Nicholas Sparks book that I read, 'A Message In A Bottle', one of the lead characters dies, so I anticipated that someone would die in this book, too. And someone does, so that puts a damper on the whole book. Why can't he write a book where someone doesn't die?

I've read A Walk to Remember, and liked it very much. I had to try hard not to cry during the end, but I made it!

Okay, I just finished the book yesterday and I loved it. I think if I had read the book before I saw the movie, I would have liked it better, but since I had seen the movie first, I thought the movie was better. But it was definitely a wonderful book. I have heard that Nicholas Sparks has a new book out, but I have yet to find it. I can't wait to read it.
