The FA have announced that a minutes silence will be observed before all matches this weekend.

However, a large section of Man City fans have threatened to disrupt the silence due to the fact that these little girls were Man Utd fans.

I didn't know that football fans could get as low as this

It is one thing to have banter between rival fans, but to use the deaths of two innocent children to get one over on your rivals is beyond belief.

Let's hope when the time comes that they come to their senses, otherwise they are going to be the focus of hatred by the whole footballing community, and I will be on the front line

sparky, that is so weak! Surely the tragic events would transcend a game of football. Hopefully City management can appeal to their fans and drag them kicking and screaming into the human race...

It doesn't sound as though the decision to have a minutes silence is because they were Man United supporters but because they were football supporters. Any of the Man City lot who are even thinking about causing a disturbance should be wholly ashamed of themselves.

Please keep us informed of what happens, Sparky.

These 'people' aren't football fans in my opinion. It seems like they will find an excuse for anything to have a go at their rivals. I hope Maine Road has a lot of CCTV cameras to find each and every one of them.

The nation can see what happens at maine road because the match is live on sky sports 1 tomorrow kick off 12.15pm.

Perhaps the cameras being there will put these thoughts out of their heads.
I HOPE SO!!!!

Sparks............where did you read this?

I can't believe it! Maybe it's media-hype?(please). Both of us, at one time or another (because we're ManU fans) have suffered intolerable, inane, ridiculous anti United sentiment! But as I'm sure you'll agree, the vast majority of true 'football' fans would not stoop to this level!

It ain't gonna happen! The 'vast' majority of Man City fans will ensure that.

wez.

I find it hard to believe too Wez....but I have been visiting various Man City message boards and they are all saying the same thing.
I just hope it is confined to the internet, but I think all followers of football know that the internet is used widely by the hooligan element to organise their own brand of entertainment.

I watched tonights game in the pub, and when they had the minutes silence the whole pub just stood in silence with them.
It was a really moving moment.

I just hope as you say, the majority of their fans, who we know to be fair minded people, ensure that everything goes as it should.

I am happy to tell you that the minutes silence was respected perfectly. Thankfully, but sadly, it appears it was just internet idiots using this tragedy to wind up their rivals.

sparky, the minute's silence was a feature on our news tonight.

Thankfully, all went well. It was spooky, eerie and so well recieved.

With influence like that, the Major has problems!

Sparky for Number 10!

Cheers

As it was at all games - 99.99% of supporters are family or parents and understand the situation, they can't do anything to change it but every one of them say's "There but for the grace of God Goes I!" I've already had my say in the other forums but I want to say thank you to all the 99.99% of sports fans(not just football/soccer) who said their farewells when asked.
