My initial thoughts after reading to this point:
1. I am against adding a new game. The site is rather "thinned out" due to a large number of games as is. I am at the point right now that if a new game is to be added, an existing game needs to be removed. I don't want us diluting player counts so that we end up with 60 hourly/daily games that get played by a tiny number of people each. I actually think we have too many as it is.
2. There doesn't seem to be a compelling reason to change Heroes... I think it's clear that it's not perfect, but any game that caters to "everyone in the world" is of course going to have to make sacrifices in order to cater to as many of those people as possible.
I wouldn't mind adding generic "sports around the world" as a category or something, which asks very general questions about the Olympics, high-level rules questions of cricket, baseball, etc. Frankly though I don't want a single question about college basketball player jersey numbers or 1996 Nascar Sponsors and car numbers in any hourly or daily game. The answers to these things just aren't known by a large enough chunk of the playing population.
I’d be lying if I said this doesn’t disappoint me but I am really glad that you took the time to look at it and give it some thought because I know that tinkering with an existing game must be very low priority compared to developing new challenges and so on for site members to play.
I guess I’ll just have to keep my mouth shut in future because I think I was one of the ones who pointed out some of the original problems with Heroes that you fixed but that also led to the change away from Expert style topics and a more streamlined topic selection being in place..... so I have only myself to blame hahaha.
Now Terry has commented I will put this to bed. To use a commonly used and annoying phrase, “it is what it is”.
