Shadow, if you lived closer I'd shout you some live music to be sure!

my first concert was a pub gig from INXS in 82 at Coolangatta on the Gold Coast. The rest of the decade was a blur of awsome shows. Simple Minds, Bowie twice, Billy Joel (I sat next to Christie Brinklie ohhhh), Simple Minds, Spandau Ballet, Lou Reed, Nick Cave, Ice House, Pink Floyd, Dire Straights, The Boss.. god, there was so many. I loved the 80's.

And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

I went to my first concert in March 2000 when I was 11. I saw Britney Spears, the opening acts were LFO and Bosson. I remember that there were lots of a girls that were around my age. They were screaming really loud. It was a good concert.

My first concert was last year when I saw Peter Noone with Herman's Hermits, and Paul Revere and the Raiders. My most memorable one in May of this year when I saw Peter Noone again at the Woodstock City Park in Georgia.

The most horrendous concert I ever went to (and I can't believe I am admitting this ! ) was when I took my sister to see New Kids on the Block for her birthday. I was either bumping for sister of the century, or I had completely lost my mind! It was awful!

But on a happier note, I have been able to see Fleetwood Mac, KISS (3 times), The Moody Blues, I could go on and on about the good ones

It wasn't music, but I saw Bill Cosby at the O'Keefe Centre in Toronto in the 60's...THAT was funny! And my mom forced me to go to see Hank Williams Jr. when I was 14!...and with Grandpa Jones.....it was funny, too!

Bill Cosby? My idol?
Hank Williams..that would have been nice too.
I don't know why I didn't see more concerts, but my parents did take us to the classics series, and our town did some great stuff, we also got to see musicals.

I guess maybe I was in quite a few concerts, so I didn't go to as many.

Babymoo....you weren't the only one to see New Kids On The Block. I ended up seeing them at London Arena and was so fed up with it that I ended up outside in the foyer talking to the security guys because I was so bored.

As it goes....I ended up getting a job (part-time) for this security firm who cater for major concerts and football games. Thus I saw Madonna for free on her Blonde Ambition tour, Fleetwood Mac and the Rolling Stones !! What a Result !!

Mine was The Prodigy in their early days when they came to Waterford. They were clearly expecting a young crowd as it was soft drink bar only. They must have known that some die hards were coming though because they made me take down my hair to search for drugs. Drug abuse must also have been considered when they decided to turn off the water so that anyone on Ecstasy would have to purchase bottled water from the bar. People were flushing the toilets to fill their glasses, yuck. I actually got invited backstage which was thrilling until I was propositioned by one of the band. I was then quickly dispatched when I announced that I was only 14 years old. I'm sure that they didn't want the tabloids in on that story!!! I still like them though and laugh every time I see the band member in question on TV or the papers.

God this is embarrasing! Only being a 'youngen' my first concert ever was Human Nature with Tina Cousins as the supporting act. My next one was our 2001 Australian Idol final 12!

The first indoor concert I went to was Marillion in 1987, followed 2 days later by Bad News (a real British take on the faux British Spinal Tap). One of the most memorable concerts I went to was Nirvana in 1990 in a small venue in London. The gig itself was good but the most memorable part about it is that I could not get anyone to go with me as noone had heard of them at the time despite me saying they were the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Maggotbrain; I bet they're mad at themselves now for passing up to see one of the greatest bands of all time play! I know i would be annoyed at myself for missing that one!

My very first concert I ever went to I was about 13 or 14 and they were a local band called "Nubie" and I was transfixed. I've been addicted to live shows ever since.
