. We had three winners this week: srini701 (that's three straight), Sypher (back-to-back) and paper_aero. Three rounds ago, back in R15, srini701 was in 11th place, 11 points behind the leader. He's now 4 pts behind the leader.
For the previous two weeks, the first five were separated by a mere 2 pts. This week ozzz2002 has opened up a 2 pt margin and, behind him, we have just 4 pts covering the next *eight* players.
N-Bomb and LeoDaVinci, are still spoon-less.

. Chelsea upset Manchester City 1-0 to win the Champions League for the 2nd time. Between us we averaged a strike rate of a paltry 24.0%, the third-worst ever in this comp over the 18 years we've been running it. The two all-time lowest strike rates are 16.6% and 13.4% (see Record Book below).
ozzz2002, last round's leader, collected one of three wooden spoons and fell off the podium crossing the finish line .. wwe84 also fell off the podium at the finish. He was equal 2nd in the previous round.
A mere 3 pts separated the first five at the end of the last round. After the unexpected win by Chelsea, the first five across the finish line were separated by a a mere point! All medals were decided on a countback, wins vs. spoons differential. Sypher and Dizart dead-heated for 1st .. Sypher +3 won the gold medal from Dizart +1.
There was a three-way tie for 3rd place .. N-Bomb +9 won bronze on a countback from ozzz2002 -1 and wwe84 -1.
Where did the first two come from! Back in R15 Sypher was mid-table running 7th, a rather big 7 pts behind ozzz2002 in first place .. Dizart was one better than Sypher, he was running 6th. They came home with a wet sail over the last four rounds, with a well-timed rails run.

New low : LeoDaVinci, paper_aero
N-Bomb and LeoDaVinci finished the season spoon-less.
Had Manchester City won their first-
ever appearance in an ECL final, they
would've become the 23rd team to win
it. They were the 42nd different team
to play in the final.
This year's comp was the 66th edition
of the ECL (until 1992 it was named
the European Cup). Six teams have
won 41 of those 66 titles: Real Madrid,
AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Liverpool,
Barcelona and Ajax Amsterdam.
The FT comp defending titleholder was
N-Bomb (LeoDaVinci won silver last
year and Howie72 came third for the

Manchester City became the 9th different club from England to play in the ECL Final, three more than next best (Germany and Italy with six each): Manchester United (first final was 1968), Leeds United (1975), Liverpool (1977), Nottingham Forest (1979), Aston Villa (1982), Arsenal (2006), Chelsea (2008), Tottenham Hotspur (2019) and Manchester City (2021).
This was the 18th edition of the ECL comp at FT. It's the first-ever win by Sypher .. his previous best was four silver medals in the first seven comps 2004-2010. N-Bomb was the first to retain his or her title when he won last year's comp. Two players have won this on three occasions: doomed (2004, 2006 and 2008) and Dizart (2012, 2014 and 2018).
