I apologise in advance if this has already been asked and clarified but if so I do not seem to be able to find it.

My question is this - if one of a team's games for the month includes a Gold Members game, can regular members also play it to count towards Team League points? I have looked in the Q&A for the answer but cannot find it, so would appreciate it if someone could please advise me.

Many thanks.

There is no special provision for those games - it's meant as a small advantage for Gole Members and an incentive to subscribe.

Note that some (but not all) of the Gold Member games are currently available to all members as part of FunTrivia's COVID-19 specials. They do however not change with the team game rotation. It's always the same games.

I understand that, Wesley, thank you. It is just that this month's Team League games includes Pot of Gold and there are very few Gold Members on my team, and I am not sure which Gold Member games are part of the current specials.

I would very much appreciate it if I could be told where to find which Gold Member games are part of the current specials due to the pandemic, and which can be played by non-Gold members.

I don't have the list handy. The easiest way would for a non-GM to just try them.

World Quiz, Obscurity and Gold Madness are the ones that non-gold members can play.

So almost all of them. It's just Pot of Gold and Bus Ride that us "Nons" can't play.

Note that "pandemic specials" will soon expire.

I would really encourage anyone who uses our site frequently to sign up for gold membership.

Subscriptions make up a good chunk of what we use to keep the site running. Thanks to all supporters.

I think it would make sense if these expired at the end of a month, so that Team v Team results aren't skewed by a change during the month.

My team is already losing out this month unfortunately, "Pot of Gold" being one of our Team League games, as we have very few Gold members and one of those is missing at the moment as his wife is terminally ill. We ended October at #13 and after just two days we have dropped to #29.

But I full understand why the specials will soon expire and it was a wonderful gesture to offer them in the first place. smile

A couple of people have reported to me not being able to play any Gold games today, though I am seeing some regular members on the World scoreboard. Anybody know what's going on?

I'd say it's likely that Terry has let that option expire like he said in this thread earlier. I know some people were asking for it to end at the end of this month but I think Terry just said it was going to happen soon.

I've tried playing a few times today and it won't let me.

The "free GM games" special from earlier this year expired. Actually, it was supposed to about 2 months ago, but I accidentally forgot to undo changes to a few games.

Those "free GM games" have returned to how they were pre-covid. Please become a GM and help support FT if at all possible!
