The NRL season will be kicking off next week on Thursday 11th March. The rule for this year's comp are the same as previous years, viz.
- One point a correct pick, nothing for a loss.
Default if you forget to pick, the wooden spoon score. - Perfect picks score a bonus point.
- If needed, end-of-season tiebreaker for podium spots will be HoF v Spoons. Largest margin wins, or if the margin is equal, most weekly HoF wins.
- Deadline each week is kick-off in the first game, on Thursday night at 7:50pm or 8:05pm local time. Three of the 25 rounds start on Friday night at 6:00pm local time.
This year is the 21st edition of the NRL tipping comp at FT (it was the first-ever tipping comp).

Welcome to the 2021 and hopefully uninterrupted edition of the NRL tipping competition. Last year we had 12 runners but this year we drop back to 11. The only change from last season is the no show of George95 but hopefully he will join in soon.Will N-Bomb be able to defend his title? Will Dizart make it 5 consecutive podiums? Will srini701 avoid being pushed off the podium? Or will someone else rise from the ashes? So many questions and so few answers....yet.N-Bomb missed the Melbourne vs Souths game, lodging tips after the game had ended.All of the Warriors home games are currently being played in Australia though this may change as the season progresses and as I type this I find out there is likely to be an announcement about a trans-Tasman travel bubble this afternoon.No game updates at the moment.We had a good start to the season, considering the short pre-season where some teams only played 1 game, as we went 65/87 for a strike rate of 74.71%. There were no perfect games with the closest being the Newcastle win over Canterbury and the Sydney victory over Manly where each game had 10 correct tips. The trickiest games to tip were the Warriors "home" win over Gold Coast and Cronulla's triumph at St George, even then they both had 6 correct tips.The season started with 2 weekly winners as ozzz2002 and Howie72 both went perfect with 8/8 and take home a bonus point each. Like last season, Sypher begins with 3/8 and is joined by Llynfi and these 2 both take home a wooden spoon.Not surprisingly, ozzz2002 and Howie72 lead the standings with Sypher and llynfi bringing up the rear.

We had a full house this week.All of the Warriors home games are currently being played in Australia though this may change as the season progresses. There is the possibility of a travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand opening up in May.No game updates at the moment.This round was a little worse than the first round as we went 56/88 for a strike rate of 63.63%. There was one perfect game as we all tipped Sydney to win away at Wests. The trickiest game to tip was Parramatta's win over Melbourne which just wwe84 and Llynfi saw happening.ozzz2002 starts the season with back-to-back weekly wins and this week is joined by paper_aero, Llynfi, LeoDaVinci, srini701 and N-Bomb as they all went 6/8. A single spoon is handed out this time and wwe84 takes the honour with 2/8.After consecutive weekly wins ozzz2002 takes a one point lead over Howie72 with srini701 a further point back in third. Llynfi pulls away from Sypher at the bottom and also jumps over wwe84.

We welcome George95 to the tipping competition to make it 12 runners and he missed the first game with late tips. Sypher was running on default fuel this week.All of the Warriors home games are currently being played in Australia though this may change as the season progresses. There is the possibility of a travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand opening up in May.No game updates at the moment other than Penrith looked like they were going to lose after the final hooter but for a superb last ditch arm underneath the ball. The Warriors came from 21 points down at Canberra to win but it also took a magnificent dive to knock the ball out of the Canberra winger's hands to deny them the winning try, also after the final hooter.Our standards continue to lower as the season progresses as we went 47/87 for a strike rate of 54.02%, the lowest in the first three rounds. We still had one perfect game as we all picked Parramatta to beat Cronulla. No one gave the Warriors a chance to win in Canberra but they did with a magnificent comeback in the second half. Honourable mentions go to gtho4 who picked Souths to beat Sydney and to wwe84 who tipped Wests to win away at Newcastle.We had another 5 weekly winners and they were wwe84, Llynfi, gtho4, Howie72 and srini701, they all went 5/8. There was no hat-trick of weekly wins to start the season for ozzz2002, instead he takes home a wooden spoon with 3/8 and is joined by N-Bomb.Howie72 takes over from ozzz2002 on the top step of the podium but only by one point and srini701 joins ozzz2002 on the second step. Sypher remains at bottom after going default, a point behind George95.

A travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand is starting on April 19 but no decicion yet on when or if the Warriors will play some games in New Zealand.No game updates at the moment.We had a superb round this week as we went 73/88 for a strike rate of 82.95%, one which will unlikely be beaten this season (famous last words). We had two perfect games as we all picked Melbourne to beat Brisbane which they did easily and Sydney to beat the Warriors where they pulled away in the second half. The trickiest game to tip was St George's win at Newcastle which still had 4 correct tips.We had a massive 7 weekly winners this round but I shall not name them here, all going 7/8. The remaining 4 who tipped this week took home a wooden spoon with an excellent 6/10, often good enough for a weekly win.The top 3 all had a weekly sin so Howie72 remains one point ahead of ozzz2002 and srini701. Sypher remains at bottom, a point behind George95, despite the latter going default.

A travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand is starting on April 19 but no decicion yet on when or if the Warriors will play some games in New Zealand.No game updates at the moment other than Penrith is the only unbeaten team and Canterbury is the only winless team after 5 rounds.It was a good round this week as we went 55/88 for a strike rate of 62.50%, though still around 1.5 less correct tips per person than round 4. We had one perfect game as we all thought Melbourne would win away at Canterbury and they scored more than 50 points against the hapless Bulldogs. No one thought Manly had a chance to beat the Warriors but they did by one point.We had a solo weekly winner this round as gtho4 broke away from the pack with 6/8. LeoDaVinci took home the only wooden spoon this round with 4/8.The top 3 all had the same score so Howie72 still remains one point ahead of ozzz2002 and srini701. Sypher draws level at the bottom with the defaulting George95.

We had a full week this week.The Warriors home games are currently being played in Australia though this may change as the season progresses. A travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand has started but no decicion yet on when or if the Warriors will play some games in New Zealand.No game updates at the moment other than Penrith is the only unbeaten team and Canterbury is the only winless team after 6 rounds.We had an average round round this week as we went 52/96 for a strike rate of 54.16%. We had no perfect games with the closest being the 11 of us who tipped Penrith to win at Brisbane and Souths to beat Wests at home. No one thought the Warriors would slay the Dragons who were on a 4 game winning streak but they did.We had another solo weekly winner this round as LeoDaVici went 6/8, turning around his spoon from last round. Two wooden spoons were awarded this round as both Sypher and srini701 went 3/8.Let us see how the weekly win and wooden spoon columns are going. After 7 rounds only Sypher and George95 have not experienced a weekly win. On the other hand it is Howie72, gtho4, Dizart, paper_aero and George95 who have yet to take home a spoon.Howie72 maintains his one point lead over ozzz2002 who has been joined by gtho4 in second place, knocking srini701 off the podium. George95 pulls a point clear of Sypher at the bottom.

There were two perfect games as we all agreed that Penrith would beat Newcastle and Parramatta would defeat Brisbane. No one thought Canterbury would win at Cronulla for their first win of the season.We had a solo weekly winner this round and this time it was wwe84 who broke clear of the pack when he tipped North Queensland to beat Canberra and went 7/8. This round Sypher takes home a solo spoon after going 4/8.Let us see how the weekly win and wooden spoon columns are going. After 7 rounds only Sypher and George95 have not experienced a weekly win. On the other hand it is Howie72, gtho4, Dizart, paper_aero and George95 who have yet to take home a spoon.Howie72 maintains his one point lead over ozzz2002 while gtho4 is joined by srini701 on the third step of the podium, a further point back. With his spoon Sypher remains at the bottom and is now 2 points adrift of George95.

We went 61/88 for a strike rate of 69.31%. There were three perfect games as we all picked the Melbourne, Parramatta and Sydney Roosters victories. On the other hand no one thought Brisbane would beat Gold Coast or Wests would beat St George.If you did not get a weekly win you received a wooden spoon this round as we had 6 weekly winners who went 6/8 while the 5 who earned a spoon went 5/8. I am sure you will have noticed the number of weekly winners was the same as the number of tips to win and the number of wooden spoons was the same as the score that earned the spoon.Let us see how the weekly win and wooden spoon columns are going. After 7 rounds only Sypher and George95 have not experienced a weekly win. On the other hand it is Howie72, gtho4, Dizart, paper_aero and George95 who have yet to take home a spoon.There is not much change at the top as 3 of the first 4 earned a weekly win, the only exception being srini701. Therefore Howie72 maintains his one point lead over ozzz2002 while gtho4 pushes srini701 off the podium. Sypher could not take advantage of George95 going default and remains at the bottom and is still 2 points adrift of George95.

A travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand has started but at this stage the Warriors want to continue playing in Australia.No game updates at the moment other than Penrith is the only unbeaten team after 9 rounds.We seem to be settling into run of similar results in terms of strike rate, this time we went 67/95 for a strike rate of 70.52%. There was only one perfect game which was Penrith's win over Cronulla. The trickiest game to tip was Newcastle's win at Canberra which only ozzz2002 foresaw happening, I would like to know how he picked this.This week we had 4 weekly winners who went 7/8, being paper_aero, Dizart, gtho4 and N-Bomb. We had the same number of wooden spoon winners as wwe84, Sypher and srini701 all went 4/8 while LeoDaVinci went 4/7 after missing the Souths vs Melbourne game.Let us see how the weekly win and wooden spoon columns are going. After 9 rounds only Sypher and George95 have not experienced a weekly win. On the other hand it is Howie72, gtho4, Dizart, paper_aero and George95 who have yet to take home a spoon.Howie72 remains a point ahead of ozzz2002 and gtho4 who catches up with ozzz2002, Dizart and paper_aero are a further point back. Sypher remains at the bottom but is now 4 points behind George95.

A travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand has started but at this stage the Warriors want to continue playing in Australia.No game updates at the moment other than Penrith is the only unbeaten team after 10 rounds.It was a superb round this week despite the first game as we went 81/95 for a strike rate of 85.26%. There were two perfect games as we all tipped Sydney to beat North Queensland and Parramatta to defeat the Warriors. The trickiest game to tip was Wests Tigers win over Newcastle which only had wwe84 and George95 tipping correctly.This round we had 2 weekly winners as both wwe84 and George95 went perfect with 8/8, earning themselves a first bonus point as well. Sypher took home the only spoon this round with 4/8, making it 5 spoons in a row and 7 in the first 10 rounds.Let us see how the weekly win and wooden spoon columns are going. After 10 rounds only Sypher has not experienced a weekly win as George95 earns his first. On the other hand it is Howie72, gtho4, Dizart, paper_aero and George95 who have yet to take home a spoon.Howie72 remains a point ahead of gtho4 while Dizart and paper_aero take over third spot after leap frogging ozzz2002. Sypher remains at the bottom but now the gap to George95 is a massive 9 points.

A reduced write-up so I can catch up.We had a full house this week though LeoDaVinci missed the Broncos vs Rabbitohs game due to late tips.Due to covid, various teams are based away from their home grounds at various times of the season.This round we went 74/95 for a strike rate of 77.89%.We had two weekly winners this round with a perfect 8/8 which earned bonus points for gtho4 and George85 and one spoon was awarded for 4/8.No position updates.At last we had someone tip a rare draw, it was Llynfi in the Gold Coast vs Manly game though unfortunately it did not pay off as Manly won by 32 points.
