How sad. His poor wife. It doesn't matter that she is the Queen. She is a woman that has lost her husband of over 70 years. They were a love match and remained close and now she lost what she said is her greatest strength.

I was so hoping he'd become a centenarian...he was only two months shy of. May Prince Philip rest in peace.

A remarkable man. Hats off to her. She might have picked one of the many Hooray Harrys around at the time, but showed amazing good sense in her choice. He was intelligent, witty and clever and she had the good luck to find a husband who brought much to what might have continued to be a dowdy, unimaginative set up , and contributed so much to its humanisation. He is a sad loss and Britain and the Commonwealth have much to thank him for. RIP indeed.

Prince Philip visited Canada over 70 times and I am happy to say I saw him on more than one occasion. I saw him quite a few times over the years and he impressed me with his class and style every time. What a trooper, going to miss him.
