I'm back on, Wes. I don't think unplugging the router did anything but perhaps so, unless Terry has been working away behind the scenes (thank you T if you are!). I'll let you know if things change. Scratch that. I'm out again. Will wait for Terry to have a look at things.

And it's only FT affected so I'm curious that it belongs to FT.

Hrrm. I had trouble accessing FT earlier also. I blamed my less than stellar ISP. In fact, let's all blame my ISP! They have crept further and further across the United States. It is not unreasonable to consider them affecting other ISPs. I'd love to blame your ISP, MiraJane, but I don't think that's the problem unfortunately. Every other website I've been on today has connected just fine. My work email is just fine. The only site I'm having trouble with is FT. It has let me back in a few times but kicks me out again. Hopefully, Terry has the answer.

Yes, please give me as much info as possible: What was your IP address when you got the error. What was the error? The exact wording please, copy and paste if possible. What do you see when it "doesn't work"? Does it say www.funtrivia.com in the browser bar? Thanks

To figure out your IP address at error time: https://www.whatsmyip.net(Do not use local tools such as your network configuration - it might not show you the one the server sees, especially if you're on a company/school/dorm network)

Maybe it's this: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/te...ing-dns-outage/In fact it's almost certainly this. The article is dated yesterday, and we use Network Solutions, and it describes the issues players are seeing perfectly. I just hope they've got it fixed!

If it's at all helpful, I was getting "We're having trouble finding that site" yesterday from mid afternoon until well into the evening. Only for FT. I just figured the site was down for everyone.
I had the same message. I found that if I refreshed, it took me to FT (One time, I had to refresh twice). Also, I sometimes had the problem on Monday.

If the problem is the DNS server, then all the people affected should be able to access FunTrivia by using the site's IP number directly. Hmmmm... I just tried that, and my browser complained that it was an untrusted connection... I made a security exception and got in, but I guess the Internet has moved beyond my ken because I don't know why that was untrusted...

So when you try to use the IP, it's mismatched. You could of course enter the domain / IP pair in your /etc/hosts file (that's however something only folks with a very good network knowledge should do as you can really mess up your internet...)

Right, okay, it's coming back to me. I remember now when I had to manually configure things like that. Used to do things like assign known malware domains to 127.0.0.1 .
