The Open

PGA Golf

July 15-18, 2021

Dizart is the defending champion from 2019, while wwe84, Llynfi and gtho4 won the 3 golf majors this year so far.

The Rules
1. Everyone will pick 5 golfers.

2. We may have a maximum of 2 golfers from the top 10 of world rankings as of July 11, 2021, in our fivesomes. The current top 10 is:

1 Dustin Johnson
2 Jon Rahm
3 Justin Thomas
4 Collin Morikawa
5 Xander Schauffele
6 Bryson DeChambeau
7 Patrick Cantlay
8 Brooks Koepka
9 Patrick Reed
10 Tyrrell Hatton

3. The lowest 4 total scores from each tipper’s fivesome will be added together to make the final score, and the lowest total score wins.

4. If one of your golfers fails to make the cut, his score from the first two rounds will be doubled to account for his final two rounds.
-A golfer must finish the first two rounds in order for his score to be counted towards the total

Tiebreaker
The lowest score from each tipper’s fifth golfer will serve as the tiebreaker. Should that be the same, it will go to the fourth-highest score and so on.

24-year-old Collin Morikawa produced an ice-cool final round to win his first British Open title on debut. Louis Oosthuizen who led for the first 3 days, faded away over the final few holes as his own wait for a second major title after a 2010 Open title, continues. Jordan Spieth had a fine tournament and finished second on 13-under, with US Open champion Jon Rahm tying with Oosthuizen for the 3rd spot.

Morikawa, who only turned pro in 2019, has now won two of his first 8 Majors, having also won on his PGA Championship debut last year. He also set a new record for the lowest score at Royal St George’s, his 265 strokes beating Greg Norman’s 1993 effort by two.

Howie72 had the top 3 finishers of the tournament in his line-up, but guess what....Dizart still beat him by 2 strokes for the top honours here with their 4th player making the difference! gtho4 and srini701 tied and their 5th golfer's score separated them. Llynfi managed to pick a player who wasn't even playing the tournament, in his line-up....

The All-Not Taken Team consisted of Dylan Frittelli, Mackenzie Hughes, Dustin Johnson, and Robert Macintyre, who would have totaled 1089 and not finished among the medals here

We successfully finished our golf season in 2021 after the washout in 2020
