I know 'Final Fantasy: The Spirit Within ' was not Squaresoft's best move but when I saw the movie the first day when it came out, I though it was a good movie, I enjoyed some of the stuff in the movie but it did not show any RPG type stuff like in the series and the fact they did not use character names from the games either! Being a 'Final Fantasy' fan for about 10 years, I'm just wondering how other 'Final Fantasy' fans feel about the movie and what they should have done to made it better then before!

I'm both a fan of Final Fantasy and a fan of film making so I can look at from both points of view. As a Final Fantasy fan I was not the least disappointed. After all, each new game introduced brand new characters, so why should the film be any different. Furthermore, the film closely followed one of F.F.'s reoccurring themes, the Gaia theory. As a fan of film making I also thought the movie was a success. It showed the future of the industry, much like Star Wars did back in the late 70's. I think it's disappointing that many critics could not look past the attempt at making a film totally in CGI because they missed out on a truly entertaining film.
