The NHL season is about two weeks away. Come one, come all and tip your way through the NHL! Rules: - One point for a correct tip. Ties are no longer possible in the NHL, as after a five minute overtime period, a shootout is played.
- Deadlines will be at the start of the first game noted in US Eastern time.
- Default is equal to the higher of Wooden Spoon or six.
- Tips not in by the first game's faceoff will receive default score.
- We will tip 15 games each weekend (all Saturday and enough Sunday to equal 15).
- As per the last several years, we will not tip the midweek games around the All-Star weekend.
- If a tipper fails to lodge for four consecutive weeks, they will become inactive.
Bonus points: - One point for picking a result solo, or one of two, provided 12 tippers apply.
- One point for picking 12 or more of 15. This year's comp will determine next year's eligibility.
- Tippers will be ineligible for bonus points if they tip all homes/all aways or all bar one.

FunTrivia.com NHL tipping competition, aka, let's see who wins the most brawls on skates: - Covid played havoc on this weekend's lineup, as only seven games played.
- Three players ran the table of games, picking all seven correct, however, after consulting with another, we decided not to give out awards this week.
- †Due to the oddity of scoring only seven games, I chose to use the wooden spoon score for MTrooper, who failed to tip. Discretion will be used in this situation all season long. I will not make it a hinderance not to tip the games, but I have to play fair for everyone. This is the reason when all games on the slate play, a defaulter would normally earn six points, but due to the number of postponements, giving six points on a seven game possible slate is not fair to the ones who tip.
- Depending on what happens going forward, if more than five games are postponed, there will be no awards given out (i.e. ten games on the list must play).
- Three games went beyond the allotted 60 minutes, and two of those went beyond the five minute mark.

| Comp Notes | - Default is higher of Wooden Spoon score or six points (Covid exceptions apply). Late starters will enter the comp alongside last place
- 1 bonus point for picking a result solo ... or one of two, provided 12 tippers lodge tips for the round
- bonus pt for perfect picks, or near miss 12+/15
- Tips of all homes (or all homes bar one) or all aways (or all aways bar one) are NOT eligible for bonus points
- Dead-heats : Weekly wins vs wooden spoon countback will determine podium finishes (if they are identical, bonus points will be used)
- Deadline : Drop of the puck of the first game each round ... default score will apply if tips are lodged after the 1st game has started
