The NBA tipping comp starts in 10 days on Saturday 23rd October (the season itself will start mid-week with two games on Tue 19th Oct). Rules: - One point for a correct tip.
- Deadline will be Friday midnight FT with a grace period of six hours.
- Default is 6/15 or the Wooden Spoon score if it's higher.
- Tips not in by the first game's tipoff will receive default score.
- We will tip 15 games each weekend (all Saturday plus Sun/Mon to equal 15).
- The comp will run over 24 rounds from Sat 23 Oct 2021 to Sat 9 Apr 2022.
- As per the last few years, we skip the weekend around the All-Star game.
Bonus points: - One point for picking a result solo, or one of two, provided 12 tippers apply.
- One point for picking 12+/15.
- Tippers will be ineligible for bonus points if they tip all homes or all bar one.

No newbies and zero no-shows. All 13 players from last year's comp have returned for another dose.
Last year's medallists were Howie72, gtho4 and srini701. The defending titleholder collected a wooden spoon and is equal last in 11th place with the other two spooners .. gtho4 didn't fair much better in 10th place .. and srini701 scores a weekly win and is in equal 1st place with N-Bomb. A single point covers the rest of the field (7 of 13 runners).

Last week ozzz2002 collected the wooden spoon and was replaced as leader. This week he's one of three weekly winners which, with a bonus point for an outrageous solo pick, sees him back at the top of the pile.
Llynfi and Howie72 were the other weekly winners, their first wins this season, which filled two more blanks in that column. George95 collected the wooden spoon which, as another first, filled one more blank in that column.
Week 6 saw a perfect rendition of musical chairs, apart from MTropper, whose cement shoes sees his feet firmly planted at the foot of the table.

There's simply no end to his talents .. a cacophony of upsets over the weekend, which saw 10 of 15 road teams win, was no impediment to ozzz2002 and his endless talents. He's extended his lead out front to
5 pts .. and another outrageous pick saw him score yet another bonus point to make it seven for the season, almost double the next-best of four bonuses by LeoDaVinci.
The next 5 pts cover the *entire* field, apart from the two stragglers at the back.
The other outrageous picks were by dg_dave, paper-aero and Sypher. The only blank in that column is MTrooper, who joined us in Week 5.

A weekend of upsets and postponements saw toocool4u replaced out front by N-Bomb and ozzz2002, who are this week's winners with just 6/12 (they also scored a bucketful of bonus points with what were some truly outrageous solo picks).
From there the gap back to the peloton of *nine* players is now 5 pts (it was 2 pts last week). The peloton is still covered by a 4 point spread.
dg_dave, LeoDaVinci and wwe84 also scored bonus points with some truly inspiring solo picks .. and paper_aero collected his first wooden spoon for the season.
Between us we had an average strike rate of 31.9%, which may be an all-time record-low for the NBA comp. I've gone through the last few year's results and we haven't come close to that low.

R10 was a complete round of 15 games played, with zero postponed. We had three weekly winners, all first-timers, which filled three of the six blanks in that column. LeoDaVinci, paper_aero and Sypher are still looking for their first win.
There were no bonus points this week for solo picks, zilch.
No change out front .. the first three are still there with a comfortable gap back to a peloton of nine, with another gap back to the two tail-enders.

Once again we almost had a perfect rendition of musical chairs. For the fourth straight week everybody swapped places except, once again, for three players.

toocool4u is this week's winner. He jumps up into second place behind N-Bomb, replacing ozzz2002. LeoDaVinci, paper_aero and Sypher are still looking for their first win .. wwe84 collected his first wooden spoon, which filled another blank in that column. We now have three players looking for their first spoon: N-Bomb, Llynfi and srini701.
There were four bonus points this week, three for solo picks and one for a near miss .. ozzz2002 now has 12 bonus points for the season, double the six bonus points by the next best, LeoDaVinci.
