I am streamlining the whole rate and move on thing. The old way was a bit clunky.
Rating a quiz is now built into the submit page. You can do other stuff -- send notes, click a different link, whatever you want... instead of being forced to a "quiz rating" page.
Just spotted the new answer page, Terry. Nice!!

About Wes' idea...
Myself, I'm OK with the disjointed, pulled-from-all-sources feeling of a game, because that's what a game is. But when I play a quiz, I like it to have some coherence, to be a thing written by one person and in one person's style and with one person's vision.
I think most players, if they're looking for what you're talking about, Wes, would just look for the easy quizzes in that category. "I think most players, if they're looking for what you're talking about, Wes, would just look for the easy quizzes in that category." Over time I have noticed that the general difficulty of new quizzes created has gotten harder and harder. That's probably because many authors are increasingly writing on more niche/expert topics. One thing that I have slowly been doing is surfacing easier quizzes more often higher up on quiz directory pages.

Just spotted the new answer page, Terry. Nice!! And it picks up that I have already played and rated it previously. The rating system only comes into play when it is a quiz that I have not seen before. Nice work, Boss...

I am going to redo the "rating" stuff entirely so it doesn't submit to another page. Great idea, and I have a suggestion for making it even better... One thing I liked about the drop down list is that you could change your mind before submitting. I presume that once you click one of the buttons on the ratings now, that is the rating of the quiz? The first click and that's it. Speaking of which, maybe it would be nice if there was some kind of feedback, something that pops up and says, "Thanks for rating". Perhaps not a pop up, that would be annoying to some, but something. Clicking a button and getting nothing makes one tend to click again, wondering if it didn't take, you see?

There should be a message stating that you just earned 20 points when you click one of the 5 options. Is that not working for you? If not, what browser are you using? Well, evidently it's not working for me. I am using Pale Moon 29.4.2.1 (It doesn't coincide with the Firefox numbering) Where is the message supposed to appear? And clicking "Submit" for Feedback to the author doesn't do anything either.

I think most players, if they're looking for what you're talking about, Wes, would just look for the easy quizzes in that category. Obviously this is what an experienced player can do if they want to invest the time. I'm however talking of making things easy - if you want to play for a medium tier (2 to 4) on 24h, you're looking at 400 to 800 questions. Scouring a deep category like TV or Movies for 50 to 150 really easy quizzes is quite tedious and can take longer than actually playing them. At the highest levels you'll probably still have to do that because the summary quizzes wouldn't be enough, but I'm thinking of making playing your weaker categories more enjoyable - if you're going for a T6 or 7, you're obviously committed anyway. It's the range from "let's explore a bit to see if I missed something I could like" to roughly T4 on 24 hours that I want to encourage. Diversification for players who aren't the top 1% or 5% quiz players and enticing those who play more for games and badges to also venture more into the regular quiz structure.

Hm I had to work around a weird pale moon bug... give it a go now gracious Thanks! It works now! The ratings buttons disappear and I get a thank-you message. Likewise the feedback button. In fact, extra-special thanks for not telling me to switch to Chrome. What bug was that? I would like to report it to the Pale Moon team.

I think this is a great idea, Wesley: there must be many people who, like me, can only pop in for a very short time on most days. I like to feel that I've "earned" my badges, so don't want everything handed to me on a plate, but the kind of thing you're suggesting would make my least-favourite topics much more alluring when attempting the medium tier 24h badges.

The new final screen (rating buttons, navigation options) looks great. Thanks Terry.

So some of you have probably noticed that in quiz submit if a quiz is part of a Quiz List, the "related quizzes" will populate with all of the quizzes in that quiz list. If there is more than one quiz list for that quiz, it will use whatever quiz list is owned by the owner of the quiz as its default. If more than one of those, it will guess. So you now have a new way to highlight your quizzes as being part of a series or preferred play order. It makes quiz lists far more useful. Give it a go
