If you have a hover mower this is a good way of getting rid of the grass clippings that get all over the patio and paths after mowing the lawn. Intead of going through all that trouble of sweeping up, which I always hate doing, try this instead.

Take the grass collecting box off the mower. Position the mower on the path or patio at the furthest point that the grass clippings have spread to. Turn it on.

As there is no grass box on, the unrestricted flow of air through the mower turns it into an excellent high powered blower hovering above the ground.

Now work your way with the mower along the paths and patio blowing the grass clippings, and any other stuff like twigs leaves and acorns, ahead of you. Move in a sweeping action across the entire path/patio area until all the clippings etc have been blown back onto the lawn where they belong.

Now go and make a cup of tea, take it outside and admire your work whilst sipping it. Great!

Good idea TW. I also try to start on the outside moving in a circular method with the grass blowing toward the middle. That helps to mulch the grass better and the "excess" grass on sidewalks and driveway is lessened.
