I just had a thought while clothes shopping with my daughter and looking at the guys just look put upon and totally bored out of their skills, in order to avoid them having to say anything when their girlfriends or wives come out and say, "do these pants make my butt look big?" well, couldn't they have a little lounge type thing with tv or something?
There's no where in some smaller shops for men to go...and I bet they'd sell more if they did this...I mean, most guys could manage a nod, grunt or "nice color" if they had something to occupy them.

I hate shopping myself, but for men in a woman's type shop, I feel bad for them!

Thanks for the sympathy over that. I think just a simple chair would help me. It's surprising just how conscious I am of my aching feet when there is nothing else to take my mind off them.

The thing is that I do have some interest in what I would like to see Mrs TW wearing. I'll often point out a garment or two I think she would look good in but she naturally has her own ideas. So, eventually I do lose interest.

A place marked 'Husbands and Boyfriends' with a chair or two, a couple of computer or car magazines ...maybe even a coffee machine, would be very welcome.

We did have this "lounge" type area in the 70's in one of the popular chains for "full figured" fashions! I don't know if they're still there or not! It crossed my mind at the time that since these larger-sized stores (with classy clothes!) were hard to come by, women WOULD spend a longer time in the store stocking up, and many would have driven a long distance to do so! I always thought it was a good feature and wondered why all largish, busy shops didn't have such an area!

Once in a great while I will find a chair when I accompany my husband to purchase clothing. Very rare, though. And of course I HAVE to go with him as he is the clothes horse!

I just read in the paper this morning that (and this may be old news) men's jeans are being marketed with a shorter vertical seam line between the inseam and the waist. Among those brands being marketed is Levi Strauss jeans. Whereas it usually is about 12" they are coming out (or have already come out) with 7" seams. Talk about plumber's pants!

Well fashion goes full circle. We all used ro wear those in the 70's. They went under the name of 'Hipsters'. (I've still got my denim waistcoat from that era. Can't do it up now though! )
