Princess Anne and her husband are to appear in Court on 9th October charged under the Dangerous Dog Act, they allowed a bull terrier to run free in Windsor Great Park and it bit a couple. They could each be fined £5,000 and be placed in prison for six months, not that it will happen, the couple were not savaged.

It will be the first time a Royal has appeared in Court for very many years. The rules of the Park are that dogs are not permitted off the lead.

What I find slightly odd is that Windsor Great Park is the property of the Crown, ie her mother..... you might think that you would have special permission to let your dog off the lead in your mother's garden, apparently not so, I wonder if the Queen could let her dog off the lead.

When I saw this thread, I was thinking...Whatever could she have done?!

I suppose, under the circumstances P Anne and her hubby have to be treated as anyone else. It must have been all over the press. I suppose the next will be a lawsuit for compensation for the damage done! I don't think prison time will be a consideration.

As she couldn't be Queen (because of the "boys") I suppose she has to be a "first" at something! Really, this is unfortunate! But rules is rules!

I believe Princess Anne has already been convicted of speeding at least once and maybe more often - but you don't actually have to turn up in Court for that.

Definitely more than once, I can remember her being fined for speeding in a Scimitar and that was a very long time ago.
