If you like gadgets (and I'm easily impressed by them!) I just learned of another object of desire.

It's a pair of binoculars that incorporate a digital camera. Whatever you see through the lenses you can snap on the camera and then download it to the PC.

I think it would be good for airshows, race meetings of all types, bird watching or scenery photographs...or even just to say to your friends, "Take a look at these then, good aren't they!"

Egads TW! Where are these binocularcams available? Now I know how those private eyes get all their close ups. That would be the neatest thing to have. Actually, my husband's avocation is photography. This would make a good Christmas present

Link sent by PM. It is a UK company but I'd think they can be found elsewhere. Try using a search engine to look at sites that supply 'electronic gadgets'. That should bring up quite a few places. 'Binocularcam' is just a short name I thought of to use as a title, they're not really called that ...although it would maybe make a good name.

I hope you find some in time for Christmas!

TW! How you've changed! Lookin' good! So what type of program would I use to play with letters?

Ah yes, I like to create graphics. The new one I've done for here isn't intended to reflect my character ...I'm not really peeling at the edges (I hope!)

The program I use to create them is Photo-Paint by Corel but there is a wide choice of other good paint programs to choose from.

I always think that it's best to try many initially and decide on just one, then don't use any other. That way you get to know how to use a program's capabilities really well.

I found that using one program for 'this' and another for 'that' meant I never got to know any program thoroughly enough to turn out graphics like my peeling TW one, or the one I used before.

Hi Telly -- I was at a camera shop today and asked about the binocular camera. What they had was by Pentax and I think they called it Binocam. It was $300, but..... The binoculars and digital camera did not work together. What is mean is, they are one object, you could look through the binoculars, but the picture the camera takes does not reflect the binocular image. In other words, I was told it does not work like a zoom lens made for a camera because the binocular lens and the camera lens are two different kinds of lenses. And the quality of the digital camera was poor.

So I asked the salesperson why would a person spend $300 for a poor digital camera? His response -- ready? -- was because it is a gadget!

I like the new graphic lefois and I'm tying to think of other uses for the binocular/camera device

I'm pretty sure from the description of the ones I saw that they did take the magnified view as seen through the lenses, so it might be worth hunting further for some.

Perhaps it's the sort of thing found more in mail order catalogues etc rather than shops.

Maybe try typing 'electronic - gadgets - gizmos' into a search engine and see if anything comes up.
