Well, I'm a generation or two before you, fluffer, but I remember Mighty Mouse, Tom & Jerry, The Bugs Bunny Show and Betty Boop! Darn! I can't remember the name of the clay-mation one, with the fellas in the jets and always helping people and saving the world......darn.......If I think of it I'll come back! Saw it just the other night...as a "classic"!

I loved the Snorks (or the Snorkels, as they're called over here) too! Maybe you'd like to check out the Unofficial Snorks Site... Other favorites were the Smurfs and of course the Care Bears! I'm not sure, but if your Jem is the same as Jem and the Holograms, then I have to agree with you. Great show! My sister still knows the theme song by heart!

I got all excited because I knew the answer - The Thunderbirds - then I read more and saw that it was answered. I'd never heard of them until Mr. Moo introduced me to them a couple years ago. He bought some of them on video, and we watch them from time to time. My favorites growing up were the Smurfs, Rocky and Bullwinkle, The Laff Olympics, and of course Looney Tunes. Today's cartoons just can't compare with the ones from the good ol days of the 70's and 80's

Looney Tunes for me too. Bugs Bunny being a particular favourite. Smurfs, Wacky Races and Yogi bear.
I agree with babymoo that the cartoons now aren't as good.

My cartoons growing up were only from the early nineties, but I still realize that they are gone! Vamoosh! Mine, too, was the Snorks, but there was also the Smurfs, The Littles, and a really great show about a farm family with a son, his parents, and a grandfather. I wish they would bring that one back!
I guess I'm lucky, though. The Snorks still play here. At 2:00 o'clock in the morning, however!

Wuzzles, Gummi Bears, muppet babies, Defenders of the Earth and Captain Planet. The mere mention of our childhood programmes sends me and my friends into hysterics.

The Wacky Racers is good. Nothing like that Muttly when he eats a bone!

Oh, how could I forget Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? (I don't remember if that's the order of words, but you catch my drift, right?) Ugh, I can't believe I used to watch that show! I was also a die hard fan of Gargoyles, which still plays today.

"Transformers, more than meets the eye..." We did that with the little ones in the daycare center...they'd love it. They weren't allowed to have them but they'd build things with blocks!
Let's see, "when Captain America throws his mighty shield, all those who oppose his mighty shield must yield." Ew, perhaps not.
"Scooby dooby doo, where are you?" (saw the film, it wasn't really that bad. Daphne was really great too.) Ninja turtles, well I love the action figures really, they are so gross, dripping snot and stuff, that boys just play with them for hours on end. I get a kick out of watching boys play with silly things like that.
Bullwinkle is one of my favorite ones too.
Animutants, don't know if they're a cartoon, but the toys are sure fun. We have this little rat that we like.
I don't like any cartoon that has high pitched girlie voices.
The Disney spinoffs are pretty good, Pumbaa and Timon are great characters...Iago finds his own, sorry but parrots make me laugh.
George of the Jungle in its original form was marvelous.

In the UK we had a fantastic cartoon called "Willo the Wisp" which was very funny with voices by Kenneth Williams from the Carry On films.
Dangermouse was also totally cool and still is.
US cartoons I liked were Wally Gator, Winnie the Witch and Secret Squirrel. Hong Kong Phooey was a big highlight too.
Now I am grown up I still think you can't beat Fred Quimby Tom and Jerry cartoons. My nephew laughs(he's 6) and I still laugh too and I'm ..........older than that!!

When I was little, which was just mid-80s, I loved watching James Bond Jr. before I went to school. (Hello, My name is Bond, James Bond, Jr.) I don't know why, but I just loved it. My Saturday mornings were spent in front of the television watching My Little Pony, Care Bears, and Muppet Babies. It used to make me upset cause I always wanted to see Nanny's face but all they ever showed was her purple and green striped socks.

I still like Bugs Bunny, and Sylvester and Tweety.
If you count adolesence as part of "growing up", I'd have to say that Bullwinkle and Rockie were my very favorites.

You just reminded me, Chelsea! When I was 3/4/5, my mother had a burgundy boxed set of two 78's! ... and if folks don't know what 78's are, too bad! They were all Bugs and Elmer Fudd. Bet they're worth a fortune now! That was a long time ago, and they weren't new then!

Wait now, we had a Sylvester and Tweety record, a 78 then, and we played that silly thing until the grooves wore down... All I can remember is Tweety in his birdbath...
Are you talking about the 78 records of the cartoon characters?
Well, my cat is named Sylvester, but it's the kids who named him.

I'm talking about two 78's, in a burgundy box, which had a continuous story (or stories) with Mel Blanc's characters, and my favourite bit was "Farmer Went a-Huntin' ", I think it was called, with Bugs and Elmer Fudd!

I think the 78's they are talking about Ace, are 78 rpm vinyl records. You know, then came 33's and 45's? Now they are all just CDs. Although I have heard that vinyl records and going to be produced again.
Most of you are speaking of cartoon characters that my son watched!@*&%$@#) I remember buying him the toys for the characters!
Once upon a time there weren't so many cartoon shows on television. Heck, when I was a kid it was black and white! Anyway, there was always a cartoon shown before the movie but after the news at the movie theater. My favorites were Tom and Jerry, and Mighty Mouse. And on TV it was the Mickey Mouse club! m-i-c---k-e-y---m-o-u-s-e.

Now now June, I remember Annette Funicello myself...we had a black and white tv for a long time too. Tom and Jerry were extremely violent and yet we all watched them and no one in my family is violent...I mean those two would be throwing hatchets and blowing each other up each episode. When you think that with cartoons you don't have the same constraints with reality, or real actors, you can do a lot of stuff! It was probably more violent than Terminator.
I really love the Roadrunner and the Coyote...and the following thing received from Acme, "Instant water, just add water!"
