Another one I hate (well, a series of them) are the ones where the star wants to write a check and after the clerk gushes on and on about loving the star, says ID is needed and of course the star doesn't have any ID on hand.

But I *do* like the commercial with Charlie and Martin Sheen where Charlie doesn't have ID so he sits around waiting at the video store. Then the ID comes through or the credit check, whatever, and the clerk looks back at him... and it's been so long since he entered the place that he looks like Martin Sheen!

Any commerical with that annoying Britney Spears! Her voice kills my ears!

I like that one too, LadyM, so I take it back - I hate every commerical in that series except the one with Charlie and Martin Sheen. That one is funny though.

Addition........Chilli's commercial with the guy making noises with his mouth.

When I first got married and lived in California, we used to watch a program on TV called Saturday Night Live. They used to do a lot of send-ups of advertisements. The problem was that some of the real ads were so stupid, I couldn't tell the difference between the ads and the SNL send-ups. Maynooth (hubby) thought it was hysterical that I would laugh at the real ads, thinking they were the send-ups.

The only one I can remember now that used to really annoy me was for jelly (or jam) - it had a punchline "With a name like Smuckers, it's got to be good". Saturday Night Live did a great send-up of that one!

I don't know if anyone else ever saw the one for "Butt Crack Spackle". When I first saw it I had to make sure I wasn't watching SNL, and I wasn't. Then my mom saw it and thought it was a joke too, but I pointed out to her that it was a legitamate phone number and adress. OMG

I usually avoid the feminine hygene commercials but there's one where the girl says she had to explain to her friend how to use a tampon. NASTY!

I thought I added this one earlier, it must have been in another thread. The Goldfish commercial that goes "Here's our jingle for Goldfish, we wrote a song for Goldfish, the wholesome snack that smiles back until you bite their heads off... .

Speaking of SNL and annoying commercials, a few weeks ago I saw an episode where there are two hunters sitting in the reeds waiting for a duck. One starts talking to the other about his insurance policy and the AFLAC Duck shows up and they blow him out of the water. After that they are bored since no other prey has shown up, so the other goes "I think I need to make a collect call" and Carrot Top shows up with his phone and they blow him out of the water.

Anyway, I have to agree that I love the Charlie & Martin Sheen Visa check card commercial. I also enjoyed the Kevin Bacon one in that series.

But I *hate* the commercial with Tiki and Ronde Barber with the girl arguing, "but it looks like him." I can't push the mute button fast enough.

Yes! Not only is it annoying, but I can't help but wonder if she is going to look back on that commercial and wonder if the money she was paid for doing it was worth how ditzy she was in it.

That's funny/ I always thought the most annoying commercials were those that found humor in the subject of seeing a male hit in the groin area. The latest, and one of the worst examples, being the latest commercial for Bubblehead bubblegum. If anyone has seen that one.
