I feel so sorry for my son's father. He works at a movie theater that is receiving a copy of 8 Mile. Here's the thing, the theater is ON 8 Mile. He said Eminem has been showing up at most of the openings in Michigan. He'll probably show up there. Even if he doesn't they are going to be awfully busy there.

It looks like it might be a good movie, I'll be interested to hear what anyone has to say.

Yes, I've been trying to talk my friend's (older) brother into taking us to it since we can't drive yet. It looks good and I'm interested to see what Eminem's acting talents are.

I've heard that Eminem is being considered for an Oscar nomination for his role. Sort of funny, he's pretty much playing himself in the movie, but if he's good he deserves it.

I just watched a program about the movie. I think it looks wonderful. He did say that the movie hit very close to home. It must be just like what his life was. I also heard that Kim Bassinger and Brittany Murphy give wonderful performances.

I also thought it was strange that they kept putting the opening of this movie off. I read about the movie over a year ago and I have been just waiting for it to be released.

The people who made the movie wanted to burn down a couple of the houses along 8 mile but the people of Detroit had a real problem with it and the movie had to wait until the people of Detroit voted on whether or not they could burnthe houses down.

Here is my opinion on the above subject. I can see how the burning down of the houses in the movie would make people think that all the kids do in Detroit is burn down houses. The thing is that most of the houses in the part of town where they were filming, are condemned. They just sit around until someone comes along and burns it down, that is when the city finally pays attention and clears the lot out. Detroit is slowly becoming a beautiful city where people would want to live again and if somebody wants to leagally burn down these houses and clear the lot at their expense (not the taxpayers) then I say more power to them. Unfortunately I live outside Detroit and did not get to vote on the matter. That has been my two cents on that subject. Thank you.
